I had this happen to me. My brother took the little black box under the seat [
I can't remember what it is called ] and re-soldered in it. It has been working
good for 3 years now. I hope this helps.

Sounds like alternator to me.
Can we get a readout of the voltages on the bike while turned off, and while
running at about 2000 RPMs?
Perhaps the wires from the alternator aren't hooked up correctly.
