I am not a very aggressive rider... most of the time.  That said, I rarely lean 
more than just same position on the bike that leans naturally in a curve, 
meaning fixed part of the bike. Maybe I do actually lean and don't realize it. 
When I have a passenger, I tell them to stay part of the back rest and don't 
counter lean.  I only lean and hang off if I am playing around.  I would 
submit, and will probably get torn up for it, that if you need to hang off to 
make a curve, you are going too damn fast.  Certainly as a noob, I doubt you 
will be that aggressive so soon.   Know you may want to practice it, but see 
two sentences back.
