I do not think it is one of those problems which can be debugged and
fixed, the only option for reliable content distribution is

There are many issues with cache.nixos.org (slowness in some regoins,
downtimes) so setting up a second CDN would be useful. It is for free.

Then I (or anyone) could set up "cache-nixos.mydomain.com" on
Cloudflare pointing to that IP and thus get CDN, faster downloads and

Unfortunately, I did nothing else particular to my configuration. I'm on Gnome
3 with GDM if it can help.

On a recent laptop with NixOS 16.09, I had to choose the 4.8 kernel package set
to make the touchpad working (with libinput), as default is 4.4 LTS.

I would like to use 'nixos-install' to generate a chroot from another
linux (such as Ubuntu), but also using a nixpkgs checkout of my choice.
'nixos-install' though has a problem..
