Hi,
I recently started using dockerTools.buildImage for a nodejs based project. It's working
fine but I am hitting a mental block trying to introduce layers - I don't want to always push
around node_modules.
My current setup is something like the following:
# default.nix
dockerImage
If I may just jump in with a question: What I feel uneasy about is to just use
some channel. Is that what everyone does? I usually pinpoint a specific commit
so that i know that my deployments are actually deterministic about what
nixpkgs set is being used.
Am I just being
Hi,
I am following the ongoing discussions on issues/permissions/organizational

Related to this I wanted to mention a project I recently learned about:

It seems to me that this might be useful since it allows to extend the

Hi Sander,
sorry for my very late response. I'll make this one brief as I am sadly on my
phone.
I belong to one of those who tried your new npm2nix and in fact am already
using it regularly. I am very much in favor of having your re-engineeering2
branch replacing npm2nix as the de-facto node

Hi,
I am looking for some help with my PR which updates libuv to the most recent
version:
https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/14973
I want to introduce nodejs 6.0.0 which needs libuv 1.9.0 and I am blocked by
this. The PR will always fail with travis because nox-review needs too long. I
Hi,
Is anyone successfully running hydra on ubuntu? If so, could you provide me
with some info/help on setting it up?
In my current setup using NixOS in production is sadly not an option so I am
trying to figure out if running hydra on ubuntu is feasible at all.
My googling only unveiled an

Hi,
nodejs 5.x has been failing to build on OSX for a while now.
The no-xcode patch cannot be applied anymore. I created an issue [1] but so far
there has been very little interest/feedback. I am currently evaluating to move
parts of our production setup to nix and this a pretty big problem

Hi,
i just finished installing nixos on my 15 macbook pro retina. The
installation went through without any specific problems and I booted

What I need is cabal 1.20.x because I would like to use ghc-mod which
is not compatible with 1.22.x because of a file format change in cabal
leading to ghc-mod being unable to parse.

I googled and searched the nixos wiki for some info on this but could not find
