Hey all,
So I am using nix on one of those nasty corp network environments, where
not even DNS works and everything needs to go through the corporate proxy.
The proxy is slow, a lot of URLs are blocked down as 'gambling' (just try
to download a jenkins plugin !!) and using tooling like cntlm is

Are there any plans to make nix's functionality into a library so that
a programmer could include these libraries and affect change to the
system via a program they made?
(keeping a C ABI so that it'll work with libffi)

I've just learned about the existence of nixos-hardware:
https://github.com/NixOS/nixos-hardware
(and did my first PR at the same time). I thought this repository was a
great idea but I don't see much activity in it (only 16 hardware in it,
the last commit is from April, ...).
Are there any

As far as I know, this repo is an early stage experiment, so activity
is more than welcome, and only time can tell how (and if) this will
work out!

Hmm okay, I have a use case then.
We're building a data flow editor in fractalide. As component oriented
styles of programming makes the concept of data flowing through a system to
be a first class citizen, the editor merely enhances this data flow
manipulation to a few points and clicks. It's

One approach that I didn't get discussed is: we could provide a wrapper
framework for paid applications.
Installing the app is as usual but the first time you run we would execute
a script that asks for a donation. The script would check in a known place
(like `~/.config/licenses/`) if a license
