Hi all,
I'd like to have a function that fetches a script from the url and stores
it as an executable.
Currently fetchurl doesn't support chmod:
https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/blob/master/pkgs/build-support/fetchurl/default.nix
My current workaround is to do:
pkgs.writeScript "foobar"
aszlig pointed out:
postFetch = "chmod +x '$out'";

There are currently on-going improvements to Hydra to upload built packages
to S3 cache instead of central Hydra machine. That should speed up the
bulids a lot. Another thing on horizon are SSDs for the central machine.
That should get evaluation
times down to dozen of minutes instead of hours.

Hi all,
we have merely a weekend before the release.
I'd like to point out the following blockers:
- Around 900 packages aren't building, mostly grsec and chromiumos kernels:

- Chromium fails to build on 64bit linux and timeouts (!)
Hi all,
I've merged staging into master. This mainly brings us up to speed with
16.03.
Major changes:
- default to GCC 5
- binutils bump https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/issues/909
PS: there are still a few packages that fail due to binutils and gcc5,
thanks for patience :)
PS2: if anyone
