Has anyone had the following problem with lightdm or kdm?
When I login and then logout, I cannot log back in immediately. If I try to
login immediately, the screen goes black and after a minute, the screen
returns to the login page.
However, I am able to login some time after I log out.

Hi Joseph Joe,
It seems your kernel configuration didn't make it into your image.
This is where the configuration is read into the evaluation:

So it either reads the file

I now would like to create an image file from the configuration.
I issued the command:
$ export NIX_PATH=$NIXREPOS
check both variables

I am still a bit confused. I added the following lines to
/etc/nixos/configuration.nix
nixpkgs.config.packageOverrides = pkgs:

/nixos/release.nix
But, there is no file release.nix on my computer.

I also have a working NixOS on a laptop now (The live-usb recognized
this harddrive).
I added the kernelConfig parameter in my configuration.nix file (attached),
but
there are build errors. Specifically, after running nixos-rebuild
switch, it ends with the following output:
GOT:
GOT: #
GOT: #

Would I be able to recompile the kernel while booting from the NixOS
live-usb and would these changes be permanent on the live-usb?
Would I just type in these commands (src:

your-kernel
make modules_install
make install
reboot
Then, will the appropriate kernel option be set so that my hard drive will
be detected?
