I'm using it as my offsite backup server (which primarily just runs dirvish
backups over SSH). I haven't had any problems with it, but what I do is
really basic. I primarily use RedHat based distros at work.

Thanks for the replies. I want to use Ubuntu, but a look at my dmesg
is somewhat distressing. Most of the errors/warnings I get are
fixable via kernel boot options (iommu=noaperture), but it concerns
me. I guess that's what I get for using non-certfied equipment!

I've been using ubuntu server 10.04 at home for a few things mostly
development work and as an OpenVPN Server. I use CentOS too for other
things and have had far less trouble working with the ubuntu box,
probably because I'm a deb guy too.
Installing Sun Java in CentOS was less fun than I wanted.
