Is there a reason that you don't want to run the stock firmware? I recently bought a different model TP Link router for one of my clients, based on its performance and rating from a review at Wirecutter <http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-wi-fi-router/>..
I was VERY impressed with the performance and the interface is surprisingly good.
