Have three of these HP XW8000 workstations and have had them for some
time. Dual Xeon, 3GB memory, damn adequate NVidia graphics, weigh a
ton. Two of them reloaded to Ubuntu Lucid 10.4 with no drama.
Do have
Maybe a bad SATA cable, bad power SATA power connector, or bad SATA settings
in the BIOS (set to AHCI, when it should be legacy IDE or vice versa)?

Thanks for the thoughts. No SATA in this beast. These bad boys have
the Windows 2000
