By the way, if Gmail's purported upcoming "self-destructing emails"
feature was to work for external mail systems, the obvious way to do
this would be by sending recipients a link that they'd have to click
to pop over to Google to see the actual message. This of course not
only wouldn't work for someone without a handy web browser on their
device, but also might closely emulate popular techniques of spammers
and crooks who of course would start sending out fake Gmail links for
people to click and be suckered into various nasty traps.
