Putin's boy Snowden is of course trying to drum up new publicity by blasting Google's new Allo chat app. Personally, I'm satisfied with the privacy options in the system. However, to tamp down the rants, it probably would be useful for Google to add options for users to set "all new chats in incognito mode" and "all new incognito chats have a timeout duration of [NN]" -- rather than only having the "only applies to this single chat" settings. Then the more paranoid users could be satisfied and the rest of us could take advantage of Allo's expanding AI capabilities as it evolves. --Lauren-- Care About Science and Tech?
