[No Thirst Software] Re: Salary Rollover

2009-06-03 Thread Craig Stallwood

I have sussed the different Salary amount too: I added up the value of
all the money flows from my Salary bucket for May and deducted this
figure from the amount carried over from April. That left £11.74 which
was the difference I was looking for; there was a spurious money flow
that shouldn't have been there...

Anyway, all sorted now! My Salary bucket had my exact salary figure
and I allocated my income perfectly. I am really pleased and now have
a much better understanding of how MoneyWell works!

[No Thirst Software] Re: Salary Rollover

2009-06-01 Thread Craig Stallwood

Hi,

I have part sussed it: I was showing future transactions and my June
salary was being included in this month's Salary bucket, along with
what was left over from May.

I have another minor issue though, I was sure that my Salary bucket
contained my exact Salary before it rolled over and it now contains a
slightly higher amount, but I cannot work out how it is calculated.
Could you please advise exactly how this figure is calculated? I think
I may have adjusted my starting cash flow and I have got a bit lost
with it all now!

Many thanks

Craig.

[No Thirst Software] Re: Salary Rollover

2009-06-01 Thread Craig Stallwood

Hi Kevin,

Thank you for your prompt response!

I did not allocate early, no, I left the money in my Salary bucket
from the 25th to today. When I opened MoneyWell today all the expense
buckets reflected the new negative values as I would expect, but my
Salary bucket almost doubled. It seems to have added the figure I had
in the bucket to my monthly salary, and the figure that was in the
bucket has been treated as left over from May.

I have exited and restarted MoneyWell a few times and nothing changes.
Does this shed any light?

Many thanks

Craig.

Hi Craig,

I'm a bit confused too. So did you allocate early using the Allocate
Income option? If you did, then your buckets will get filled so you
can start paying bills now instead of waiting until the first of the
month.

Once you use this option, you need to keep it set to that day range or
MoneyWell will be confused about last months allocations and how they
affect this month.

One other thing you can try is to exit and restart MoneyWell. It's
possible that the new month didn't get refreshed properly.

Peace,
