Got this message on the Meetup group and thought I'd share. I think I might
go to the prototyping and production event. Will be interesting to hear
from large companies how they do things.

Hi all,
Heads up that no one is hosting Circuit Hacking Monday on Memorial day. If
people wander in the space looking for the class feel free to direct them
to the kits in the vending machine that they can play with themselves.

Are you manufacturing something with plastic? How much do you expect to pay
for your molds? $10,000? Maybe even $100,000? If you are a startup and
don't have the capital or the volumes to justify expensive plastic molds,
manufacturing out of sheet acrylic might be the answer for you.

Hi all,
In case you were wondering, the laser cutter is functioning again. There is
still duct tape on the tube, so be careful. But the blockage preventing the
laser from coming out of the tube has been resolved (Thanks to Justin
removing a broken adaptor piece that made its way inside).
Ongoing
5th at the NoisebridgeHackerspace, and costs $85:

Hello Noisebridgers!
As we gear up to apply for some big money grants at the end of 2019, we'll
need to start measuring how well we're serving the local community. Please
help by filling out our 10 question demographic survey.

Hello people of Noisebridge,
Due to a shortage of teachers we haven't had any scheduled laser trainings
this month, but we have one scheduled today before the AbilityHacks event.
The laser cutter safety training will be run by David and Dany.

The elevator is finally back in service! Yesterday, a licensed company
checked to make sure it was operational and removed the city tag.
If you experience any issues with the elevator, please share in our forum:

Unfortunately, the elevator is down for maintenance and will not be
operational in time for the gala tomorrow. The roller cam on the elevator
door facing away from Mission Street is broken and the elevator technician
is working on it.

We had a tech come look at it and they cleaned and adjusted all the optics,
and confirmed that we need a new tube. We are discussing how to go about
this here:

There's interest in upgrading to a 150W tube.

After 2 months, we've gotten the broken tube upgraded to 150W!! Hurrah!!!
*Note that you shouldn't go over 55% power to prolong the life of the new
tube.* So you probably won't be able to cut wood or MDF thicker than 1/4
inch. *We have not retested all the materials yet, so please try 50% less
micals for cleaning,
etc.).
