Hello,

will it be possible to extend the environment variable to select the full path
name of the first two open tabs?

I want to run winmerge by something like this: winmwerge
$(Full_Current_Path:Tab1)
$(.....:Tab2) when two files are currently open. This will make life easier
as long as there is no diff plugin or built-in.

Thanks Uwe

i open two tabs. one is a very large file (80,000 lines; 6.27M). then i fold
some codes of this file. so long time! if i switch to another tab and then back
to this tab again Notepad++ will spend long time to re-see this large file.
it seems that Notepad++ is re-loading this large file.
i think since Notepad++ alreay load in this file, and there is no any change
to the large file. the reload action is strange.
now i dont dare change the tab frequently because of long refresh time.

who can advise to me?

When attempting to open a file from the command-line and a filename contains
spaces in it's full filespec form, notepad++ parses the filename "parts" and
attempts to open them separately. Don't say yes, create new when in "c:\program
files\...". It will create c:\program

For example:

cd "\program files\notepad++"
notepad++.exe change.log

notepad++.exe "change.log"

Both calls to notepad++ with change.log fail in v4.0 and v4.0.2

During the "testing" notepad++ crashed, I allowed the MS "trapper" to send you
the info.

Hate to say Notepad++ is not ready to replace notepad.exe with this critical
error.

When the text in the Find field is found, Notepad++ moves to the line containing
this text, but moves to the beginning of the found line, too (position 0). Could
you please make Notepad++ show the correct position in the line, too, so the
occurrence of the found Find field text will be visible?

Hi,

I am trying to get Notepad++ to launch Acrobat to view the pdf version of
a tex file. The following command does not work:

"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe"
"$(CURRENT_DIRECTORY)\$(NAME_PART).pdf"

Just as importantly, neither does the following work:

"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop\Adobe Acrobat 7.0
Professional.lnk" "$(CURRENT_DIRECTORY)\$(NAME_PART).pdf"

(I activated the LNK extension in the control panel so that Acrobat will
start in the same position as the last run; just declaring Acrobat.exe
will make Acrobat/Reader forget its last position and start with the
default.)

If I put the LNK in a batch file (say view.bat) I can get Acrobat to open
but the file does not open:

view  "$(CURRENT_DIRECTORY)\$(NAME_PART).pdf"

Even if I declare the name of the file it does not work:

view  "$(CURRENT_DIRECTORY)\foo.pdf"

Please advise!

(It is also somewhat frustrating that I have not gotten a single response
to any of my posts. I have invested many hours learning\configuring
Notepad++ and I would be very grateful to get some feedback; if my posts
are unwelcome for some reason I would love to know the reason why!)

Best
Idris

Hello,
I just installed Notepad++ on a clean WindowsXP installation. Trying to open
a large file (600MB) crashes Notepad++ (Error in module scilexer.dll).
