[notepad-plus - Help] Search Results to New File (SourceForge.net) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Message: 1 Date: Wed, 11 Mar 2009 09:49:07 +0000 From: "SourceForge.net" <nore...@sourceforge.net> Subject: [Notepad-plus-plus] [notepad-plus - Help] mark file as changed when not reloaded To: nore...@sourceforge.net Message-ID: <6743626.331...@sourceforge.net> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=6743626 By: fool4uanyway In my opinion, this is a very good request. I could have asked for it myself, and I probably would have if I hadn't found it when searching the forums before asking again. I have an application that writes to a log file. I am trying to debug this application by selectively building a log of event by stripping out unnecessary log lines and adding comments in-between. I save the log file from within Notepad++ after each step. I go back to the application to perform the next step. If this step isn't of any value to me, I just want to have the last logged lines removed. In fact, I just want to revert to the state I saved the file in before performing this step. So: I don't want to reload the changed file. And: I want to save the file in Notepad++ again. Currently, this is not possible after denying the request to reload the file because of the noticed changes. I have to edit the file in Notepad++ first by adding and removing a character or line. Only then will I be able to save it again. This is what is not making sense. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. I'll go back to v4.7.5 or maybe change back to some other editor. Of course should active directory follow the active file. Nothing else makes sense the way I use editors to edit, compile and upload files. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. (or just doesn't anyone know an answer?) as I see #2 it's no solution, I have no time to compile my own lexxer (ok, perhaps a plugin, we'll see) let's forget about this after someone confirmed that I need to compile it but 3) ... I'm completely lost I saw that any special char might make problems, don't ask me why (doesn't make sense to me, esp. that scientilla can do it, the .api files can do it and every other limitation couldn't get in my head) and yeah, let's call it #4 from now on: why are there still the .api files? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. But I would recommend to use SC_MARK_FULLRECT as symbol for it and make it a little smaller. The problem of the Undo is that you can only check if you reached a savepoint. There is no way to find out if the line is modified or restored, at least without modifying Scintilla. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. The text files contain many lines where words are separated with a - instead of a regular space so I would like to remove those entries en masse. If I choose to replace all - with 'space' then that would mess up the IP addresses which are also separated with a -. I've tried a few various combinations but can't seem to find the right syntax. Say for example I have: BT-CENTRAL-PLUS: I would like to make it: BT CENTRAL PLUS: I have no problem making the find value: ([A-Z]+-[A-Z]+-[A-Z]+:) But the replace value is where i'm becoming stuck. Won't post the examples i've tried for fear of being ridiculed as some couldn't have been more wrong if I typed them blindfolded whilst drunk! ;) Any ideas please? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. I can't seem to find similar functionality within NotePad++, am I missing it somewhere or is that something available via Plugin?
