I was thinking of using PHP, but would have to install Apache or IIS and play with the config, all in all would take about 30 minutes to an hour to set up. I just didn't feel like it. AWK is an excellent idea and lends itself to other text manipulation situations as well. I will get back into AWK. I would like to use NP++ as my main file viewer, but I want it to open files
as read only by default. I know that this can be done with the command line
version, but is there any option I can set so that the Windows version does
it? Thank you.

Be sure you are editing a file with ".cpp" extension.
The pop-up window (the hint) with parameters will be shown right after you type
fopen(
The hint will not be shown until you type the opening brace '(' .

Hi All,
i used to use Notepad++ here at work all the time for webfocus development and
it worked like a dream- in fact it quickly became my favourite devlopment
environment
so it was a no brainer to choose it for my home projects...
the problem i got was that any html which had javascript or an object such as
an tag wouldn't work properly in IE via the run in IE command...
i get this error:

using IE 8 at home there was nothing in the scruity or advanmced options i could
set that would stop this error- in fact many times going back to the options
showed that the setings i had previously set had not saved- in short there was
nothing i could turn off or on in IE to stop this from happening- i gave up
and used Firefox...
problem is at work my computer needed reimaging- ive had to reload notepad++
and im now getting the IE issue i was getting at home and i simply don't
know how to fix it
now i know this is a browser issue but if i run the html from my webfocus
environment
i have no problems with IE and we are not allowed to use Firefox here at work...
therefore im desperate to get this working as ill have to start using the
webfocus
environment again for my html development w

Actually I've just did that. Unfortunately, Notepad++ isn't accepting the new styles from the stylers.xml. They are: Smart HighLighting, Incremental highlight all, Tags match highlighting, Tags attribute, Active tab focused indicator, Active tab unfocused indicator, Active tab text and Inactive tabs. I hope someone (maybe Don Ho?) could explain it 'cause I can't. The odd thing is that even if stylers.xml is set right with a color, when I open the Styler Configurator within NP++ it shows a different color for the option.
