hi,

when you want to drag a file from the tabbar to the edge of the document window
you can choose wether to duplicate or move to other view. in 5.1.2 it both says
"duplicate".
it tested it with editing
...

...

and you get:

shouldn't be twice here
shouldn't be twice here

Hey, I'm really new at programing, and I have no idea how to use Notepad++ to
compily C++ files to executable.
I'd really like anyone of you to tell me how to configure my notepad to do
so.. by the way, I only have cigwin to compile files. If you want to suggest
another compiler, it would also be fine.
Thanks everyone.

Hi,

For some reason Notepad++ keeps creating a new startmenu item everytime I open
Notepad++ although I moved the startmenu item to a subfolder. Any way of
deativating
this?

Using Windows Vista, if that makes a difference.

The author is currently working on other plugins and hasn't announced a Unicode
conversion yet. If I'm not wrong, the last time he talked about this plugin
he said he wanted to change it deeply, rewriting it from the beginning, which
takes long.

In the meanwhile, yes, you can easily solve the problem by using version 5.1.2
ANSI. Just go to the download page, but instead of choosing the .exe
self-installing
file, choose the .zip compressed folder. It contains both the Unicode and the
ANSI versions. Just unzip the ANSI folder somewhere, and run it. Please note
that if you are currently using any plugins, which are obviously Unicode plugins
(or otherwise they wouldn't work with the version of N++ that you are using),
they aren't backwards compatible with the ANSI version, so you'll have to
download
their "old" ANSI version. Most plugins, however, are provided in the .zip file
itself.

I used to be able to have NPP save auto backups to a specified sub-directory
(such as NppBackup) or the current files directory. However, after an upgrade
(I believe it was to 5.0 or 5.1 - dont remember which) which wiped out my config
I can't get it do use this behavior.
Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?
My config preferences on :
the Backup/Auto-Completion tab is:
Verbose backup (so I can have multiple versions backed up)
   User custom backup directory: checked
   Directory: nppBackup
the MISC tab:
Remember last operation directory: unchecked

I have tried both settings for last operation directory and it made no
difference
and backups are still going to my user home dir (Documents and
Settings\\nppBackup).
I have also tried several combinations of specifying the directory ranging from
.\ to $(FULL_CURRENT_PATH)\

So, does anyone have sug
