I'd suggest recording this:
delete
insert 'A'
next word right (ctrl+right)
delete
insert 'C'
next word right
delete
insert 'E'
home
line down
delete
insert 'G'
...

Better?
The automatic uppercasing is something a script language will do, not a macro.

This one is hidden in the shortcut mapper. Open/Switch to results window is
bound to F7 by default. Nothing will happen if the window is empty.

It is an old functionality.

When you have all your referred files opened, click File -> Save session and
choose a session file name.

Later, you can load the session back using File -> Load session. If you want
to dismiss the files you have open at this point, File -> Close All first.

In Settings -> Preferences -> MISC, you can set up a default extension for
session
files. This allows you to request Notepad++ to open the file from the command
line, and it will open the session files, not the short xml file a session is
stored as.

How do I know if an "internal lexer" is available? You mean that NP++ comes
prepackaged with a lot of unused Scintilla lexers, that can be used? I do not
know how to "invoke" these in any case! Do you have any practical ideas that
we can do?

That command doesn't work well with Scintilla v1.78. Use Kaboom instead

Scintilla comes prepackaged with plenty of lexers, and Notepad++ uses most of
them. Adding some more is possible, but requires adjusting Scilexer.dll source,
recompiling it, and adding whatever is required in langs.xml and stylers.xml
(plus all theme files). It can be done, but not in an automated way. And
Scintilla
does not _provide_ Mediawiki lexers. That does not mean no one ever submitted
any to them.

Is there a way to use regex to place characters both before and after selected

As I understand there is a bug in the macro-function. I hope it has come to
the developers' attention through this thread.

Thanks for all good work being put into Notepad++

Hi,

I installed notepad++ on Windows 7. But the file association function didn't
work. If I add new associations in notepad++ preferences, close them and open
the preferences again, the associations are still there. But if I restart
notepad++ then, the associations are vanished. And Windows never opens the file
with the notepad++.

Is this a bug in notepad++? Or did I something wrong?

BTW it would be nice if I could select multiple file types and add them at once.
