I am using 5.6.8 but I am unable to reproduce the problem.
If you create a new text document in Notepad++ with the language set to
"Normal Text"
are you able to do the multiline indent?

Perhaps the look-ahead feature (i.e. "?=") is an extended feature that
is not present
in simple RegEx. Just speculating that the built in RegEx feature is
only simple RegEx,
while your plugin might be more fully featured. See, for instance, the
following
Wikipedia article on feature comparisons between regex libraries:

I have attempted to respond to two different posts to the
notepad-plus-plus email list,
but have been unsuccessful in having my responses associated with the
original post.
Other posts in the archive appear to be threaded.

Can anyone explain the proper way to respond to postings?

Yes. They lack a References:- oder In-Reply-To:-Header, containing the
Message-ID(s) of the post(s) you reply to, which is used for
threading.

You should be able to "just reply" to them; your MUA - mail user agent
- should insert all necessary headers. Usually you'll have a button or
menu entry to choose "reply" from.

Hi,

I want to report a bug in notepad++; every time i try to open a .nfo
file with it, it crashes
I'm using WinXP SP2 and Notepad++ 5.6.8.

You can make Notepad++ bug like this;
- create a file named "a.txt" with Notepad++, and insert in it any text.
- close the "a.txt "and rename it "a.nfo"
- try to open "a.nfo" and a lot of bug report will appear

Thanks

Hi all, the "Toggle Block Comment" for SQL files does not seem to work
for Notepad++ v5.6.8.

I'm expecting a -- to be placed at the start of a line (just like a #
for shell scripts, or // for C) when I press Ctrl+Q.

What's strange is that the syntax highlighting does seem to work when a
line is prefixed with --.

Am I doing something wrong?

Cheers,
Kevin

This just started happening. I haven't changed anything locally, at least
not manually. Something seems to have changed out from under me. Is there a
way to reset Notepad++ to restore CTRL-S to mean save the file?

Jim,

Yes, there is a way.

Settings -> Shortcut Mapper-> Modify on clicking the 'Save' row.

Hope that helps.

Shreyas

Hi all,

I love Notepad++ and use it all day, but I've got one small gripe.
Even though everybody else does the same thing, that doesn't make it
right.

If I look in explorer at a C source directory full of headers and
sources, they all describe themselves as "Notepad++ Document", which
means I can't sort by type.

This is just not true. They are not Notepad++ documents. They are C
headers and sources.

It would be really nice if one project in the world didn't follow
Microsoft, Safari and all the others in vandalising the system like
this.

Thanks,
Adrian.
