Hi,
I love NPP and use it for all text and code editing :-)
Here are three bugs and a related suggestion.
The bugs are still present in version 5.1.4 Unicode.
1. The "wrap around" option for Find is not saved
anywhere, it's always enabled on NPP startup.
(This may also be true of other Find options.)
Related suggestion: when find "wrap around" is
enabled, when the find function "wraps around"
to the start of the document, NPP should make
a sound, or at least give _some_ indication.
Firefox shows a message on the Find bar, but I
prefer something I don't have to _look for_.
2. Since V5.1 (Unicode version), Ctrl-Alt-Leftarrow and
Ctrl-Alt-Rightarrow (search backwards or forwards for
the same string that the cursor is on) don't work.
The key combinations do nothing.
3. Closing the bottom pane (search results, console window
etc) moves the focus to nowhere. The focus should go to
the main edit pane if the focus was previously on the
main edit pane or the bottom pane.

First: thanks for the new release, it's nice that you keep up the work on NP++
:)
I've got two questions. Easy one first - what about the NPPM_DOOPEN message?
(see https://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=2325482&forum_id=482781
) - any plans on adding it to the official Notepad_plus_msgs.h ?
Second: this might be a bit too late (since it would break current plugins),
but what about making isUnicode() return either "requires ANSI", "requires
UNICODE",
"neutral"? If you don't need to use any of the file/path functions of NP++,
you don't really need to do separate ansi/unicode builds of your plugins...
plugins already require "mixed mode" programming since Scintilla is ANSI-only,
and imho plugin name and plugin function names don't really need unicode
characters.
Not a big deal, just a thought...

Version 5.1.4 (Ansi/Unicode) crashes under XP + SP2 during "search in files"
if "two-column-view" is active...

Currently that wont help much, we have no symbols either :)
There was a draft to add it, but it requires some effort to do it. Ideally,
it would be done by the use of some plugin (maintained by N++ project though
for the symbols), so oyu can choose whether you want to debug api DLLs and
symbols
or not, but I dont know how

Hello,
I moved from Notepad ++ v5.0.3 on XP to v5.1.4 (Unicode) on new computer with
Vista home
All the files with hebrew characters were shown fine on the XP (Ansi encoded
php files) Are now showing garbage instead of hebrew on the Vista (e.g. '??????
?????')
Furthermore when I write in hebrew mode I get question marks instead of
characters.
Please tell me what I should do to get back to normal.

Try to rename Notepad++'es plugins subfolder (i.e. ...\Notepad++\plugins) in
order to run Notepad++ without plugins. If the problem is gone, then it was
caused by some plugin (by some .dll file in the plugins subfolder). In such
case, create an empty folder "plugins" and move the .dll files one by one from
your previously renamed plugins subfolder to the new "plugins" subfolder.
Restart
Notepad++ each time you move a .dll file and check whether the problem happens
again. It will help to understand what plugin (i.e. what .dll file) causes the
problem.
