I tried what you (dv__) suggested, and this worked OK.
Though of course, just copying the folder contents does not add a Notepad++
option in the Start Menu, nor does it include any Uninstall exe.
NB. I still do not know what caused the original problem.

Okay I used the newly updated debug version and it crashes any time I type
letters followed by a "(". So for example typing "a(" causes a crash.
Unchecking
the "Function parameter hint on input" checkbox prevents the crash.
Steps to reproduce:
1. open notepad++ (with or without plugins installed)
2. Make sure "Function parameter hint on input" checkbox is checked in
the Backup/Autocomplete options.
3. type "a("
4. crash
I'm not being told of any debug file being created, but I did get an error
screen
and then a second one if I click the "retry" button and skip the submit error
to Microsoft box.

Hello,
I've been using Notepad++ since a while but when I upgrade to version 5.1
anytime when I press the keys ":" "{" "}" the line where I'm positioned is moved
to the left one identation level!!! I don't know why this beavior is happening
and don't know how to disable it. It's becoming annoing more and more every time
If you could help me i'll be gretted.

When I clone a document or create a new view, the font is several clicks smaller
than the original. Where is the setting for this I can't find it. I want the
font to be the same size.

i think I have read all on this and cannot get it to work. help please.
the latest notepad++ is installed.
c:\program files (x86)\notepad++
i have installed Aspell and placed it all here:
c:\program files (x86)\notepad++\plugins
specifically, this exists:
c:\program files (x86)\notepad++\plugins\Aspell\bin\
when the prompt appears for the Aspell relative path, I enter
=..\Aspell\bin
this must be wrong; I have tried many variants. including
=..\plugins\Aspell\bin
Can someone help?

I want to open NotePad++ programatically in C#.Net using Process.Start().
Is there a list of arguments that can be passed to NP++ when opening it
programatically?
I am hoping there is something that can instruct NP++ to goto a specific line
number after it opens a file...

thank you for your comment. Effectively I can agree that evaluate math
expressions
in a text editor is not so usefull, but this program was also created for my
will to give an contribution to Npp using some code already developped, exercise
myself with the first plugins, and last but not least, introduce Purebasic and
my site.
I still hope it may interest somebody, but looking at the number of the comments
received up today, I may say that you are right.
For the unicode version, I'll take it seriously and see to convert it (my first
time with unicode coding). It will not be immediate because I'm not a
professional
programmer and I've a little time to dedicate to thi hobby.
Anyway, I'll appreciate your comments on the unicode version (when it will be
released...).
