IMO if the explorer can be attached to the left, right, top or button view of edit context, it is dockable. I use nedit for all programming tasks (it's functional but has not been upgraded in years). On windows I use notepadd++. I really would like to use it at work too. Is a port to Solaris possible? Try running it under Wine if you have Wine on your platform (I'm pretty sure there is one for Solaris on x86). Otherwise, check out Geany, which also uses Scintilla under the covers. It isn't Notepad++, but you'll no doubt be happier with it than the rather ancient nedit. http://geany.uvena.de/ -- Ross McKay, Toronto, NSW Australia "Let the laddie play wi the knife - he'll learn" - The Wee Book of Calvin ------------------------------ Message: 8 Date: Thu, 17 Jul 2008 05:38:22 -0500 From: "Lamonte(Scheols/Demonic)" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: [Notepad-plus-plus] Slight Problem with Notepad++ and saving and opening files To: notepad-plus-plus@lists.sourceforge.net Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" When I go to save a file I start in the notepad++ directory. I was just typing some code into a php file (please see example line above) and setting the cursor into the text line - Notepad++ then crashed. I tried to re-open it and it crashed again, whenever I tried to set the cursor and started to type. After a while of waiting (Notepad++ still closed) it seemed to work again, no crash anymore. However, after a short while it crashed again. I've installed v5.0 now to be able to work with the program. Thanks for your help! It's incredibly annoying having other words randomly highlighted in slightly different shades when you're trying to find and copy. It would be fine if the selected text during a search or double click selection remained the same colour as previously. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
