The following was posted a few days ago as part of ticket thread #3835 in Sf's
support timeline:

    * keywords SOG added; ideatorrent removed
    * owner set to cmaloney
    * status changed from new to assigned

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to report this, this is a known issue. There is
however, a workaround. If you have the idea open by itself (ie. not with other
ideas on the same page, like the summary view, the link above would work), then
if have the voting link open in a new tab or window, then the vote will change.

I am escalating this ticket for further review.

Regards,
Chris Tsai, SourceForge.net Support

This workaround doesn't work for me (using Firefox 3 on WinXP). However, I know
that Google Chrome seems to work better with IdeaTorrent, so perhaps the
workaround
applies then.

I think this is "brocken by design".
When one is selecting rectngular block (Alt-Mouse) and lines are different
length,
only a portion of the longer lines (up to the length of the last selected line(
can be selected.

Hi.

I'm looking for a feature. Basicly you can put the caret anywhere in a document
and start typing - like on any row and column without making any spaces or line
breaks before that point. Does this kind of feature have a name?

Does Notepad++ support it in some way? Or does anyone know of a text editor
which supports this?

Thanks.

The TODO list at scintilla.org says allowing the caret to go beyond the actual
end of line is being contemplated.
When this is enabled, then rectangular selections won't be restricted to the
shortest line tail. So yes, the current behaviour is a Scintilla (mis)feature.

Scintilla does not support this at this point, though it is on the TODO list.
As a consequence, Notepad++ doesn't (yet) have it.

Manu editors have this feature. ConTEXT does, and is not alone.

Thanks. I hope Scintilla will get this feature soon. I'll use ConTEXT for
purposes
where I need this feature for now.

I have to admit that I do not understand what you are talking about here. Could
anyone explain further?

"Twinkel Twinkel little chris, how i wonder what you are? Up above the world
so high,
like a diamond in the sky."

here:
Software is user friendly ( your way of thinking is != all others way of
thinking.)
and
getting benefit (even it looks too stupid, for 70% population, ) out of it.

- Pictogram is something where you don't need to read texts and tell your brain
directly what it means, liek a monkey see banana,
he know in a split of seconds.

- Because in notepad++ , plugin developer can be anywhere from the world,
they could may not have icons thenself time to create,

- notepad++ core can simply read the parameter,
put a default icon if there is no icon provided by himself

Cheers

Yep, tried the last version again (1.5.4).
That version never looses the check state for 'Navigation bar'...

In any text editor, the visible wndow displays lines of text. Some of them
extend
up to the right edge of the window, some don't.
So, what does it mean to click, or move the caret to, a place that is between
the end of a line and the right edge of the window? It is up to the editor to
decide, and there arebasically two schools:
1/ The restricive one: there is no text here, so go to the "closest" position
where there is text. This is usually the end of the line or the start of the
next line. Scintilla, hence Notepad++, belongs to this class of editors.
2/ The smart one: extend text with spaces, so that the caret is now at the end
of the line. Smarter editors do not actually perform the extension until a
character
is typed. As I said, ConTEXT allows this, among many others.

Smart editors usually allow a user to choose the restrictive or smart moe via
a configure dialog.

HTH
CChris
