Outside of N++ I remove the read-only flag (by e.g. checking it out of source control). N++ doesn't detect the change. I reload from disk. N++ still thinks the file is read-only. I come to these forums to search for an answer and in the meantime, after some unknown number of minutes, N++ finally concedes that it can make changes to the file. Here's the real kicker: now that N++ has cleared its head, it works just as expected, and I can't reproduce the issue. But I have seen it happen more than once in the past, so I know there is actually some issue here. Maybe it has to do with N++ being open and idle all night? My workstation having been locked? I'll update this thread as I find more data points, but in the meantime has anyone else seen this kind of behavior? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Make sure one of them is selected. Switch to another application, or Windows Explorer to uncheck the read-only flags. Now return to N++. It will have noticed the change of the active (currently visible) document. But it will _not_ have updated the read-only status of the other files. I believe the same is true when doing it the other way around. If you mark files as read-only, you can still change them in N++. However, you can't save the changes, because the files are read-only (but the buffer isn't). ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. That's what SciTE does, and it's a lot better. It would also be nice if, when you are at the beginning of a line, when you hit Backspace, it performs a BackTab unindent instead of a single space deletion. That's what SciTE did, too. If there isn't a way to make it do that, why not? Have you digressed from the original code, or libraries, to the point where there is no comparison to N++ and Scintilla/SciTE now? (are you not getting updates?) ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Consider the following sample C code -- ----------------------- var1 = var2 * 10; var3 = func1(var1); var4 = func2(var3); var5 = var4 + var3; ----------------------- In the above code, I want the words "func1" and "func2" to be of bold type. The names of variables, etc will be normal, i.e. non-bold. The idea is to identify words followed with a parenthesis start "(" and make those words bold. The parenthesis may not be bold. Such words could also be macro invocations. Abhir ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
