Like you I'm surprised he doesn't just use the Settings-Preferences-File Association for this. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. I downloaded 5.0.3 today and tried loading a UTF-8 test file (with no BOM) which was opened as an ANSI file. The file I used can be found at <http://lynx.isc.org/lynx2.8.6/lynx2-8-6/test/utf-8-demo.html>. Looking through some of the release notes I can see that there was a problem of this type previously. Is this still an issue and is there anyway to detect UTF-8 files correctly? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. It is fast and useful. Thanks to Jose Javier Sanjos. You can find it here. http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=189927&package_id=226231 On re-opening NPP, Light Explorer does remember the last opened directory and file and displays it. However, I'm not aware of opening a folder as a project. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. This should be fixed: (1) Firstly there's no reason that folder should ever be used as a default. The 'My Documents' folder is a much more appropriate place to start, *if no other folder can be used*. (2) Pretty much every time, there is another folder that should be used. For example if I have open the file "My Documents/Web/site/section/index.html" then when when I make a new file and try to save it, it should default to the last folder used - ie ""My Documents/Web/site/section/". This is the most logical since whenever you make a new file it is likely it will relate to the previous file. Even if not the exact same folder it will be close and will save going through a dozen other folders to get back to where you were. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Also, "token" is an odd word to use, and probably a bit too technical; "occurrences" might be better. So the phrase should read "Replaced 10 occurrences" IMO. You ought to have proper English for single replacements as well, i.e. "Replaced 1 occurrence". Finally, I'd like to throw in a suggestion for getting rid of the alert itself (which gets in my way), and instead put the text on the status bar at the bottom. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. However, I'd like to correct some points: 1) npp v5.0 can reload the modified file after using astyle in Run dialog. 2) nppexec supports mapping script into Macro submenu, thus you can assign hotkey with your script. Remeber to use nppexec v0.2.4, which is not included in npp v5.0 yet. I've just downloaded and tried out v.0.2.8 of the NPPExport plugin, released today (https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=189927&release_id= 624533). There is not a forum for this plugin there, so I'm posting here to let the author know that there is something amiss with it. I'm on Windows XP SP3 with N++ 5.0.3 and practically all the plugins out there, updated to the latest version. WIth NPPExport 0.2.8 (the Unicode one, NPPExport.dll) in the plugin dir the program fails to start up with this sequence of messages: "C:\Program Files\Prog1\Notepad++\plugins\NPPFileTemplate.dll Load Library is failed. Make "Runtime Library" settings of this project as "MultiThreaded(/MT)" may cure this problem. This plugin is not compatible with current version of Notepad++. Remove this plugin from plugins directory if you don't want to see this message on the next launch time." "An exception occurred. Notepad++ cannot recover and must shut down. The exception details are as follows: Code: 0xC0000005 Type: Access violation Exception address: 0x0043D64B" "Notepad++ will attempt to save any unsaved data. However, data loss is very likely." "Notepad++ was able to successfully recover some unsaved documents, or nothing to be saved colud be found. You can find the results at c:\N++RECOV" After this the program won't start, but Task Manager shows a notepad++.exe process for some 20 seconds with 13MB of memory usage. Removing NPPFileTemplate.dll does not change the result, except that the blamed plugin is now NPPInsertPlugin.dll - same exception data too. Removed NPPInsert changes the accused dll to NPPTextFX.dll, remove this and it's now QuickText.dll. Restoring all that plugins and removing NPPExport or restoring old 0.2.7.3 solves the matter. The NPPExportA.dll shows no such problem. Hope this helps. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. I am forced to work in that environment witch has terrible editor. My program just copy file that i edit to the file that microBasic need to compile, i can't just use same file because microBasic reedit all tabs and white spaces when compile and insert space chars there. So, i nead to have edit and compile version of file. My program copy file whenever it change its size, but the problem is that Notepad++ wont update file until loose focus and get it back. So i need to click some other window and then return to Notepad++. Window that i need to click is some other program it can't be Notepad++ another tab !!!! I hope u will fix this soon. Best regards. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
