Hi,

no idea how to get this priority up, so i just added a supporting comment.

BTW: both links target the same id - I suppose one is wrong, isn't it?

Best regards, RG.

The coding standard I use says that tab must be four spaces. This is easy to
configure in notepad++. But when editing makefiles this standard is not valid
as tab characters have a special meaning in makefiles.

Is it possible to configure notepad++ to use real tabs in [Mm]akefiles and when
the selected language is Makefile? Or is it at least possible to use an
alternative
key combo to insert a tab char?

I can cut and paste an exisiting tab char as a work around, but I have to at
least change the tab settings to get that first tab character.

Thanks,
Nick.

I installed 4.5 and tried to open a config.php file and got the following
error:

Notepad++ : a free (GNU) source code editor has encountered a problem and needs
to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I got the same error on an earlier version I was using, so I upgraded to the
current version and I'm still not able to open some files.

Help!

Thanks,

David Bell
