No, something did not.

http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=1873980&forum_id=331753

If you are willing to spend some time, you may find the differences between
the old and new session.xml file format. It takes a couple of words changes,
and it will work again.

You can also open your files again.

Today, Unicode is the web standard. To be exact - UTF-8 is the web standard.
All browsers supports it (and if there is a browser that doesn't support UTF-8
- it's a peace of junk and nobody uses it).

So, make your web-site in UTF-8 encoding and don't worry about anything.

The command line parameters are described here:
http://notepad-plus.wiki.sourceforge.net/Command+Line+Switches

None of them will do what you want. Perhaps what you need is a batch file that
redirects the text into a file, then opens it with Notepad++.

to the user define dialog.

Sorry for dumb question.

"The new plugin will now compare the current two tabs if two panels aren't
already
open. And the "Files Match" bug has been fixed.

Hopefully this will make the plugin a lot more intuitive and as easy to use
as you'd expect it to be :)"

Thanks, that's much better. There should be fewer queries about it now, and
I can see Multi-view becoming more popular for general use too.

Thank you for including the ability to highlight where the changes are in each
line too. But the highlighting is very faint - am I able to adjust this?

Also, if I have more than two tabs open, what determines which ones will be
compared?

"view->toolbar->hide ? Is that what you want?"

I don't have that in my menu - is it in the latest version? I can disable them
in Settings/Preferences/Global.

Regarding your replace_characters, are you talking about overwriting portions
of every line with certain text? I'm planning a replaceinline(text, position)
function that does exactly that. That also suggests the idea of an insertinline
function as well.

As far as looking at Better File Rename, I'm not familiar with that particular
program, but I'm assuming it's some kind of file renaming program. I've
downloaded
some freeware programs like that, and I think you're on to something there.
There's an obvious similarity between renaming files and renaming a series of
lines, so I'll have to look into them and see what kinds of things would be
useful.

Thanks, and keep the ideas coming.

Just before Notepad++ crashes Windows Task Manager shows it as having a Working
Set of around 1GByte - looks like some kind of loop acquiring memory?

Further details:

I open NP++ with 3 files open - all of them fairly small (one around 75k, the
others around 10k). I clone the view and have a different file open in each
view.
I have been copying/pasting between the views and I thought that was the
problem,
but closer examination using Windows Explorer shows that it is switching between
views that is causing the problem - all I have to do is click the left panel
then the right panel then the left panel and so on and the working set memory
keeps increasing - at first by very small amounts but after a while it adds
larger and larger amounts each time (which is clearly why the system slows down)
and eventually gets the working memory above a Gigabyte and crashes.
