Version 0.9 is finished. I just sent the files to Jens to add to the Notepad++
Plugins project, so look for it there soon. I'll put a link in this thread
as soon as I see it there.

I'm calling it version 0.9 not because it's not done, but because I haven't
finished rigorously testing each function. There are no known bugs at the
moment,
so once it's uploaded, feel free to start using it.

I haven't added all of the functions I have in mind, but from now until the
1.0 version, I'm not working on any new features, just testing and bug fixing.
But I'm still open to ideas for version 1.1.

>I found this in the Plugin menu but I can't figure out how to add a file to
"Favorites"!

You must install the "Explorer" plugin, in standard installation is the "Light
Explorer" only.
Go to to the notepad-plus home page, then to "Downloads" and scoll down until
you see the plugin table.
Here will you find the Explorer plugin.
After installing you will find "Favorites ..." in the plugin / Explorer menu
and a heart symbol in the toolbar to show the favorits dialog.

Best regards

Exactly what I would suggest, but please read
http://notepad-plus.wiki.sourceforge.net/FindReplaceNewlineHowTo for details
about why this is necessary and what the other alternatives are.

Please ignore our recently arrived resident anonymous troll. I don't think
there is any way to add rows.

Make sure that Setting/Preferences/Global has "reduce" ticked and "enable close
button on each tab" is unticked, although I think these are the default.

You might want to investigate the control+tab and control+shift+tab menus and
alt+w or alt+ww as alternative methods of selecting tabs. You could also use
the -multiInst command line parameter to start a second session to get more
tab space, but that might not be very convenient.

Actually, turning that off will mean that it never remembers even the most
recent
file you've edited. If you don't like that, then leave it turned on, but close
the files you don't want to come up any more.

        Notepad++ v4.6  and its auto-updater (GUP)

Thanks to GUP, Notepad++ v4.6 has the capacity to search and install the update
package (if available) from Internet.

GUP (Generic Updater for win32) project is made originally for Notepad++. During
its conception, one idea came in my mind : if it can fit Notepad++, it can fit
any Windows program. Thus the birth of GUP.
See : http://sourceforge.net/projects/gup-w32/ and
http://gup-w32.sourceforge.net/
for more detail of GUP.

Only Installer integrates the auto-updater module (optional). So if you use
zipped version, you have to download GUP from its project page, create "update"
directory in Notepad++ installed directory, unzip the package into it then edit
gup.xml file. To disable auto-update feature (in the case this module is
installed),
go to the Preferences dialog, uncheck "Enable Notepad++ auto-updater" (located
in MISC).
Note that auto-update feature is disable (doesn't work) for win 95/98/me et
nt4.

Notepad++ v4.6 fixed bugs and added features (from v4.5) :

1. Add Notepad++ self-update capacity (optional).
2. Fix save file dialog crash issue.
3. Fix the crash issue while the length of config.xml is zero.
4. Change the behaviour : When file is deleted from outside and switch back
to Notepad++, user will be asked if he want to keep this file. If he answer
yes, he will not be asked in the next time.
5. Change Window title from "Notepad++ - file path" to "file path - Notepad++"
6. Fix Run dialog bug: the executable file won't be executed even it is between
the double quot.
7. Add open relative file path from command line feature.
8. Fix the crash issue when open a file which does not exist anymore from RFL
(if its path exceed certain length).
9. Fix the bug that the title doesn't be updated while file status changed and
updated.

Included plugins :

1. TexFX v0.24a
2. Function list v1.2
3. ConvertExt v1.1
4. NppExec v0.2 beta 4
5. Spell checker v1.2
6. Quick text v0.02
7. Light Explorer v1.4
8. Hex editor v0.84
9. Base64 ecoder/decoder v1.2

Hi

Downloaded 4.6 and it still has the bug I identified earlier - but I now have
a workaround.

As I said before - the problem occurs if I have two files open in "cloned" views
and switch from one to the other - each time I do this more memory is allocated
(and in fact the amount of extra memory allocated increases each time). I had
been running with the Function List turned on at the side of the screen - if
I close the Function List window then the problem seems to go away, so it look
as though the problem is in that module.

Hope this helps to track the problem down

MisterDog

Hi,

I want to use notepad++ to edit email - actually it's a forum post from MySQL
forums, but the format is the same.

Is there a language available so that the wrapping/etc will work?
Is there a way to do this (and rewrap quoted text) already?

I notice that the 'diff' language make it look 'nice' :)

Max.

First of all, sorry for my poor English, i'm not sure if i can explain clearly
what i've met, but i will try.

When i open a "UCS-2 Little Endian" txt File at the first time, i find that
in the Menu "format" it always points at the place "Encode in ANSI", but after
i switch to another window and switch back to NP++, it can points at the right
place "UCS-2 Little Endian". Next time i open the file again, it can points
at the right place.

Find this bug starts from v4.3, but not in v4.2.2.

Please refers to
http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=1872580&forum_id=331753 Harry's
post.

Will you use the way Harry said to fix the Horizontal scrollbar problem in the
next release?
I want this feature very much.
