I don't understand it. While it appears that the delay is caused by one or more built-in plugins, why am I only one to experience this delay with the stock installation of Notepad++? Thanks in advance! ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Regarding the Function List plugin - I do not use it either. I even have no user rules defined at all so I would guess that it should not have any impact on the startup speed, shouldn't it? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. It's the LightExplorer.dll from the Plugins subdirectory. If I temporarily rename this file, the startup delay is gone and Notepad++ mainn window appears instantly even if all other built-in plugins are still loaded. May I ask what is the purpose of this plugin? What is it used for? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Does anyone know what mighy cause this problem? I have found two references to nppcm.dll in the registry and they are both focused on the proper path. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Then delete it, bring up the search and replace and in the replace field, paste the tab character where ever you need it. Works great, although it's a hokie way to do it. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. That is to say, I believe the original question was how to NOT insert a tab, but the plain text "\t", while using a regex to find it. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. The plugin doesn't maintain any information once the compare is finished ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Restart explorer.exe if you make any changes in the registry (easy way afaik is logout/login, but you can use the taskmanager aswell). Also, check if there are any non-ANSI (unicode) characters in your path, nppcm may suffer from the same behaviour as notepad++: unable to open filenames with unicode. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
