I would like to see a option that if I close Notepad++ it also be switched to
taskbar. Surely there has to be a small context menu with at least "close".
Also I could think of an option to hide the icon (in option menu and/or
contextmenu)
so that it will be opend again only be (re)starting. At this time I would make
a patch myselv if you include it ;).
The reason is. I saw the taskbar option the first time today and closing it
is to fixed in my head. But I want to have a faster start of the program (it?s
1-2 seconds with many plugins)

Hi,

I'd like to install N++ but I'm hesitating because I do not know how to create
a registry key, which appears to be a required step to make sure N++ is properly
installed and running. Do I need a specific software to create the registry
key \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Notepad++? Where can I find detailed
instructions?

Please help!!!
~Learner

Hello!

Could I second the really simple change in the Replace dialog box, making the
'Find Next' button activated by pressing something (e.g. Alt-F), as this allows
you to selectively skip through a long Find-Replace run by holding Alt down
and hitting F's and R's accordingly.

Great many thanks!

david

You can use the TAB key and SHIFT+TAB combination to alternate between the Find
(Next) and Replace button. Press the SPACE bar to perform the action of your
choice.

I'm not sure I understand. How does your suggestion differ from clicking the
Minimize button near the upper right corner of N++ (aside from choice of
button)?

Regards.
Greg

It would be wonderful if alt keys were completely enabled. Some of them work
like ?,?,?, etc. work, but ? (alt+251) and most of the alt Greek alphabet
do not. Is there a specific reason why this can't work?

You are right, it?s not that difficult to replace the tab with spaces... but
there is always one time that we forget!... and there is another error when
executing the Python script!!

Of course the tabs/spaces option is very useful, but to me, for example, it
would be nice to have an extra option where I could override the global
tab/spaces
option. That way, as I code many times in PHP and C++ and some other scripts,
I could leave the " replace Tabs to Spaces" option unchecked, because thats
the way I prefer with those scripts, but I could override that option for a
Python script and force the "tabs to spaces" conversion. It didn't necessarily
would make the App less user friendly. That option could be located in the same
box where the the "convert Tabs to Spaces" option is, just bellow it, and could
be for example: " X - Always convert Tabs to Spaces for the selected languages"
... click ... and select the languages you want!

Of course this is not a major issue!... Not even a small one.

Its just my personal opinion in something that I thing would help me to be a
bit faster and that would help avoiding those errors when I switch the language
I work with, most of them because I forgot to chage the tabs option.

Why ask for this? I guess there are other people who would say "Hey, when I
close an application, I don't want it to stay in memory or wherever else I
didn't
ask it to be".

I guess you know what an option is?
It makes sence if you think in another direction. I want to close the window
but I don?t want to close the application. At least it would be the same. I
only want it because of the performance because of that it would be good to
also have the choise for no icon.
That is really not to uncommon. programs like OpenOffice also use somnething
like this. If you open it - close it - and open it again it will be much faster.
I think they use something like a dump.
