Why does this request have to appear here AGAIN? This was asked some time before
as well.

Thanks for the answer, I now have a quicker way to switch tabs (and I know how
I could map keys to do it my way).

However, I still think that Notepad++ should by default also accept
Ctrl-PageUp/Down:

1- Ctrl-PageDown uses 2 keys, not three like Ctrl-Shift-Tab
2- Ctrl-PageUp is more widely used to switch tabs; for instance Excel only
accepts
Ctrl-PageUp, not Ctrl-tab (FireFox accepts both).
3- The difference between a great application (like Notepad++) and a fantastic
one (like FireFox) often lies in attention to such small usability details.

Are you happy, or aren't you willing to be?

If not, I suggest you just drop Notepad++ and start looking for a really
FANTASTIC
application.

It's been annoying me very much for the last couple of days that I couldn't
find anything I search for anymore. I had to close the Find dialog, hit
CTRL+Home
and press F3 to get where I wanted to go in the first place.

It seems the CTRL+F Find dialog automatically limits its search to the current
selection. Why is there a In selection checkbox in the dialog for anyway then?

It may be convenient that the current selection is copied into the Find field,
but it makes absolutely no sense to limit the search to that very same
selection,
does it?

Has this been changed and if so, why?
Could this be improved or regressed to the situation where a search will always
search from the cursor position, unless In selection is checked?

Me too please.
Or perhaps a macro to do it with one keystroke?

Randy.

Hello,
I like quicktext plug-in, but if I understand well, it is only possible to add
tag or to use a tag from a language supported by npp. Is there a way to add
tags from a user defined language ?

Thanks in advances for the answers.

Reaching the end of the currently opened file as moving the vertical bar
downwards
causes in the 50% of the cases, when this operation is performed ( dragging
the vertical bar ), the horizontal bar to disappear.

So:
1) Start Notepad++.
2) Open a file that is large enough to fill MORE than ONE screen page - the
page you see with the current zoom in the Notepad++ editor's window.
3) Drag the vertical bar (rightmost position in the window of Notepad++) so
that to reach the final page.
4) The HORIZONTAL bar (bottommost) disappears!
5) Drag the VERTICAL bar for a second time in the same direction - downwards.
Do this despite that the bar cannot be moved more that that in this direction
( downwards ).
6) Now, the HORIZONTAL bar pops-up again.
7) If you repeat the dragging operation you can see the HORIZONTAL bar to appear
and disappear sequentially.

My mistake ... I haven't noticed that when the Notepad++'s current view area
of the text of the opened file includes at least one line that is wider than
the viewing area then the horizontal bar appears.

Is there something wrong with the updater? I have N++ 4.7 installed but updater
says "No update is available."

By the way: thank you for this great program :)

I am running 4.7.2 on an XP and I do not
have this problem.

Yes, it does put the current selection
into the find field, but I can type in
what I want, click 'Find Next' or press
enter and it goes right to what I am
looking for.

I do not know if it makes any difference,
but I have been installing the zipped
download since I first started using
NotePad++. Also, I do not use the
Program Files directory; I use a root
directory named Notepad++.

I know this probably does not help. I
just thought I would provide my
situation.

Good Luck,

BillBo

If it doesn't help, it's no solution. :S

The not so funny thing is, sometimes it works, but it triggers me when it
doesn't
and that seems to be more often.
