Dogooder, do us all a favour and go back to "idiot village" - they are missing
their leader very much.

DonHo! I bow before you as always and appreciate your hard work and
dedication.

Again, Dogooder, the person with with a single, half alive, brain cell, go away.
You singularily lower the collective IQ to VERY dangerous levels.

Cheers DonHo and take care!

Does this also happen if you temporarily rename the plugin folder to start
Notepad++
without plugins?

What is the size of your file?

LOL - OK. I guess I over-complicated things... :-)

Quite simply (I think), I want a docking form inside of NPP that I can then
force an external executable's window to exist in. Kind of like launching a
2nd instance of a browser inside of an I-Frame (I think).

That way, I can have all of my IDE's functionality inside of a NPP form, vs.
having to bounce from app to app to keep track of things.

I'd like the form to be a horizontal one, when docked, like the console.

Obviously, if I am using a resizable/dockable/movable form inside of NPP, the
application 'residing' therein (making use of the form's space) needs to know
when it needs to resize itself to match the forms new size/location, if the
user changes it, closes it, etc.

^^^ This is where I was talking about using the passage of environment variables
to convey to the app residing therein that things have changed and that it needs
to react...

Hopefully that is a bit clearer? I was over-tired when I drafted the above,
and I tend to get wordy (a lot) when I get tired...

Please let me know. Thanks!

The appropriate text is the text-to-work-on, I assume?

Perhaps I should have described it as "something like a compiler setting/define"
in the header of the script (possibly between, before or after comment lines).

After an upgrade to NPP 4.7 I missed the FunctionList Plugin and reinstalled
version 1.2.
Now the the defined functions are shown again, but the definions in the "User
defined"-dialog disappeared, and I can't find the FunctionListRules.XML where
I defined the rules.
What's going wrong, where are my definitions?

Thanks,
Wolfgang

Hi

It is a very good fonction, what about "Can the text of active tab also only
show the icon" for example whith a configuration check box (but it is a detail).

Nevertheless I have a big problem if trying to use column mode box (alt+c) it
make notepad++ crash with an error box with title: StaticDialog with the message
in translate from french "Specified ressource name couldn't be find in picture
file" following after clicking on ok by the famous God damned Exeption

Thanks to correct the problem because it is a very good fonction

Hello,

if I understand you correctly you would like to have an plugin that handles
external programs. For example you can define some application executables like
calc.exe and cmd.exe. When you start those applications there exist normaly
a dialog. You would like to have a plugin that "snapps" these dialog handles
and displays them as a docked view, at best without the border.
Features:
- You can set a list of some applications that started on startup of Notepad++.
These apps will be automatic docked.
- All applications will be closed when Notepad++ is going to close.
- I think your "back" and "top" means nothing more than hide and view them in
dependency of active or inactive state.

Best Regards
Jens

> I suggest you just make your window smaller then.

This does ensure that I can edit the bottom lines at a higher position on the
screen. But I would still like to *view* as many lines as possible of the file
? even at the bottom of the screen. There is a difference between editing
and viewing a line. Editing requires stronger focus than viewing. It is hard
to keep focus on a line at the bottom of the screen. Not only because of low
position, but also because adjacent task bars are rather distracting.

> There are some applications which do allow scrolling beyond the

You do have a point. However, I don't think we should worry too much about
whether
the height of the vertical scrollbar exactly reflects the relative size of the
visible part of the document or not. I believe the vertical scrollbar's most
important function is the ability it gives users to ? well ? scroll. The
height is less important. Anyway, even if one introduces whitespace below last
line (adding to effective document height), then the difference between the
two vertical scrollbar heights becomes negliable for files extending more than
a couple of screen heights.

> The applications I know allow pressing the arrow buttons above and below

visible.

anymore).

Personally I'm not too keen on those solutions. I prefer that arrow down cannot
be activated when the scrollbar is at the bottom. Otherwise you will see
a discontinuous jump of the document downwards when you first force-scroll using
arrow-down and thereafter activate ordinary scrollbar. This is a drawback with
the diff tool (although their intention is good). Therefore I'd rather prefer
UltraEdit's solution. Here they add exactly one-screen height of scrollable
whitespace below the last line. Therefore there is no need to force-scroll via
arrow-down button. Notice in the diff tool of Tortoise SVN they do add
approximately
6 lines of scrollable whitespace below the last line which is good. Therefore
even without the arrow-down button the last line does not stick all the way
down at the bottom.

> Scintilla natively supports scrolling one page below the last line, although
> in Notepad++ this is turned off

Thanks for the information. Sounds like this corresponds to the behaviour I'm
seeing in UltraEdit. Together with all the other examples plus my arguments,
I think this is an indication that there *is* need for such a feature. If there
was no need for such a feature vendors wouldn't have bothered to implement the
technically more difficult solution.

> On a side note, there always the Feature Requests tracker, I think that works
> more effectively that posting it in the forums as it allows the maintainer to

Thanks, I'm new to this forum so I didn't know. I think I'll wait and see what
kind of responses I get here. If noone has any serious objections against my
suggestion I'll try posting this as a feature request.
