I want to search for an address instead of looking for it, especially for a
100 mb file.
How do I do this? Because I am not sure this search option exists.
It's very stressing...

First off all - thanks a lot for such a super editor!

Just want to mention following optional features that will be for goodness in
Notepad++. Very-very in-need-of behaviour ;)

1. Optional startup in minimized-to-system-tray mode. This would let anyone
to autostart Notepad++ at login painlessly.

2. Open new file in Notepad++ on double click at system tray icon. Optionally
hook global keystroke for same operation. This would let anyone to work with
new text/conf/source files surely within Notepad++.

3. Don't let editor to hide tray icon on click! Messy one. I can't figure out
some reason for current behaviour.

4. Change tray icon to something more clear. That one upper piece of paper looks
ugly IMHO.

Thats all I wish to change in Notepad++ for now :)

p.s. I refer mostly to EmEditor, my previous pad, for tray behaviour.

This part is xml file from updat url. There's nothing to do with gup.xml file.

What files did you find in Notepad++\updater\ directory?

Use command line "gup -options" to set your proxy and proxy port.
Don't modify the xml file manually.

I deleted the updater folder completely. Extracted GUP 1.6 inside of it and
set the proxy via the GUP -options. Opened NP++ and clicked on "Update
Notepad++"
and I get the error "It's not a valid GUP.xml" I did NOT update any XML files
manually. Strangely enough when I open the GUP.xml file and tell NP++ to verify
the XML (using the XML tools), it tells me it doesn't like the line <?xml...>
in it's current position, yet it is valid (maybe that's just an issue with the
XML verifier).

Anyhow having the updater folder empty when I tried it, not sure why this error
is popping up. I'll reply back to the above post from Joel about the security
we use for our Proxy. However, I believe it may use our domain login
credentials
for authentication. Not sure if that may be related to the issue??

Hopefully we can figure it out. I appreciate the feedback. In the meantime,
I can always update manually... no big deal.

Best Regards

When I use batch file(eg. bat cmd), ini file, Java, C# and any other file type,
comment is work on English but failed in Chinese, Japanese. The comment lines
have character problems that can't read. This must be a bug.

Is any body found out this? Can it be corrected? Thanks

Interesting that it happens with some other programs too, indicating that it
isn't a Notepad++ fault.

There must be something else in there causing it. Have you had a look with
a hex viewer? Have you tried deleting all the characters up to (but not
including)
the end of some of the lines, just to see if it still happens?

Also, is it possible that it's the printer wrapping when it just reaches the
edge of the page. If so, then changing to a smaller font would fix it. I
haven't
seen that sort of problem since before Windows 3.1, but I'm not sure if that's
because drivers have improved or because programs have.

Are there any spaces at the ends of the lines, that might be causing the printer
to wrap?

This post is intended for Jens, or people who have expirience with the dockign
code in N++.

I used Delphi to code the DBGp plugin. Then I "released" the framework for
creating
plugins for N++ in Delphi. Fidvo's SimpleScript is created on it for example,
I'm sure it traveled arround. I think I didn't yet send it to Don, because it
has one problem that I'm trying to solve for the last two weeks.

Here we go.
A window is created, registered with N++ (NPPM_MODELESSDIALOG). Then the window
is shown (to ensure everything is properly initialized - Delphi issues) and
then it's registered as a docking window (NPPM_DMMREGASDCKDLG).
As long as the window is docked everything works normal. But when it is floated,
in certian cases the whole application hangs. One example beeing: A button
(standard
windows object) on the floating window is pressed, and this causes to show a
MessageBox. The application hangs before the message box is shown. But you do
hear the sound. So this must be some sort of redraw problem.

I have been debugging this from all points of view and what it seems is that
the application (N++) stops somewhere in ntdll.dll after it passes thru some
toolbar message procedure and is waiting for a message. Or perhaps a deadlock.
I'm not sure.
(I did download the Symbols of windows.dlls but they didn't work.. Foobar
windows.
Does anyone have expirience with this?)
(I even created a script that translates VisualStudio stack trace to include
Delphi symbols...)

So my question is:
What is the difference between a docked form and a floating form? Is it a
problem,
that the form is created by CreateWindow and not CreateDialog? Are there any
special requirements for the tbdata structure?
Is there some message that a docked form must answer or return 0/1 in its
message
loop to work correctly?

I'll work some more on this when I have time, but any pointers help.

Thanks and best regards
-Zobo

Hi

This version crashes, when i: enter the User Define dialog, and press Create
new, enter a name, and press OK.
It was not a problem before 4.7.0
