Is there an option to autosave the session leaving notepad++?
Moreover, if I change (in Windows) the command line to open the session
doubleclicking the session file (for example adding "-multiinst" option) and
after inside Notepad++ I select "Options" from menu, even if I make no changes
the command line is restored to the default value (loosing my changes). Is there
any option to avoid this?
Thanks in advance

Yes, I can do that.
Please send all your documents to me.

If you are so impatient, perhaps you will make any progress by searching the

Could you be more specific.

First of all, Notepad++ can save the default session on exit. Don't you know?
Or what is wrong with that?

The rest of your message is arbadacarba to me.

Trying to export (copy RTF to clipboard) a file after comparing it to another
by the Compare Plug-In, makes Notepad++ crash.

The error message is:
"The instruction on 0x01831eae refers to memory on 0x0184b1a0. Reading or
writing
("read") of the memory failed."

Copying HTML to clipboard doesn't give any problems, but it also doesn't copy
the difference highlighting.

Would it be hard to make the NPP Export Plug-In copy the formatting/highlighting
completely and without problems?

Yes, it is a known bug in Function List. Please wait for FunctionList 2.0 Beta.
I will fix therein a lot of bugs of ALPHA version. Problem is, at the moment
I am very busy.

Best Regards
Jens

Same result in ANSI mode, the accented characters are lost when I export.

I've tested Scite with the "copy to RTF" command. The copying run correctly
in ANSI mode. In UTF8 mode the accented characters are badly converted but not
lost.

Hi All,
Great program! two questions!

There is one thing that im not sure if its possible.
I know certain sections of code become collapsible/expandable ( with + - ) tree
things...

I also know that you can hidde sections of code.

<h2>a)Is it possible to highlight a section of code and make it a collapsable
section?</h2>

(I am also aware that you can stream comments, to make them collapsible)

My alternative at the moment is to hide sections of code, but when i restart
the program they are shown again, so if a) is not possible:

<h2>b) When hiding sections of code, can you make the program remember this
when you next re-open that file?</h2>

Kind Regards

Adam Muncey

I've tryed Notepad++ 4.8RC with the NPPExport plugin (v.0.25 et v.0.26) : result
exactly the same as Notepad++ 4.75. All accented characters are lost when I
use the export plugin.

Tested :
- export and copy/paste
- RTF and HTML
- ANSI mode and UTF8 mode

It's not a problem with Notepad++ 4.8RC himself : the standard copy/paste run
correctly in UTF8 and ANSI mode (and the news encoding convert commands are
really good !)
It's a problem with NPPExport, the plugin eat the accented characters !

Thanks

Adalan

I mean:
a) I open a session file saved previously (e.g. Project.ntp where "ntp" is
my session extension); this session includes 3 open files.
b) I open a 4? file;
c) exit from notepad. If I don't explicitely save session using the "File ->
save session" dialog box, the session file "Project.ntp" will not be updated
and the following time only the 3 files will be opened.

--> I find a useful thing if there is an option to autosave the opened session
updating the selected session file. If I mark the "save session on exit", and
then open another session file, I get all the files of the first session and
those of the second session opened.

The second problem is that I use very frequently more than one instance of
notepad
at the same time, opening two or more session files. So I have associated (in
Windows) to the file extension the following command line:
"notepad++.exe -multiInst -nosession %1"
where %1 is substituted with my session files (eg. project.ntp)
Doing the following action:
a) open a notepad instance.
b) Open the menu "Options" from toolbar.
c) Close the menu "Options" with or without making changes.
d) exit from notepad
e) --> the command line associated to session extension is restored to the
default
value:
   "notepad++.exe" "%1"
   loosing my previous changes

I hope the message is more clear.
Thanks for your effort.

There is the standard Windows shortcut: Alt+Space, N (That's hold the Alt key
down and press the spacebar, then release the Alt key and press the N key.
This should be available for all Windows applications, not just Notepad++.

I also use AutoHotkey and you can work shortcut miracles (like this) with that
(particularly if you still need Shift+Esc).

(Sorry I don't know what it is if you're working on another platform)

Anyone else getting the same problem as reported above? I still can't reproduce
it.

I'm planning to put out a fix for another fairly serious bug this afternoon.
Can you believe I disabled the "Run" button?

I'd rather fix the other problems too while I'm at it, but I need to be able
to reproduce them first, so if someone having the problem could tell me what
version of Notepad++ they're using, including whether they used the installer
or just the zip file, I would really appreciate it.
