This has been persistant for me since version 4.0 in Notepad++.

In my blog template, I display an actively updated list from blogrolling.com.
In the code for the blogroll, I use a couple of <script> elements. There's
this one part where I make a comment inside the script element so that it's
not empty. I notice that when I enter the <!-- and --> at the beginning and
end of the comment, the <!-- is purple instead of the usual green. I couldn't
figure it out until I noticed that the only difference between the location
of this script and any other script I use is that it's a .php file.

If you use <script src=".php"><!-- comment --></script> does that little quirk
happen for anybody else?

Thanks for your reply. I was actually looking for a file name searcher, not
a searcher inside files. I guess notepad++ doesn't have this feature.

I'm using Explorer plugin v1.7.2 and notepad++ v4.3

In favorites, when I add a group and another subgroup under [Files] it causes
notepad++ to hand. When I exit and relaunch notepad++ all my favorites have
disappeared.

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot.

Ryan

I just updated from version 4.2 (only used it one day) and version 4.8 does
not appear to have the left hand window which showed the drives I could reach
on the network. I have looked where I thought it may be but no luck.

Does this feature still exist?

thanks

Just checked the 4.8.1 installer; no english.xml. Other language files, but
not english.xml.

So, maybe it is created when one installs NPP with the installer? Did that;
no english.xml in the NPP install directory or in %APPDATA% with the other
configuration files. And nowhere on the drive after doing a "dir /b /s" from
the root.

Nothing critical, and I can monitor the Translation forum as suggested; I mostly
wondered what happened to the file because I have used it in the past to add
some items to contextMenu.xml

Mike

Unfortunately, this fixed one still has the same problem in Hebrew script.

As someone wrote somewhere else, the problem seems to be with SciLexer.dll.
By copying the version of SciLexer.dll bundled with Notepad++ 4.7.5 with that
of 4.8.1, the above problem disappeared.

I have another problem with Unicode input. I use UTF-8 without BOM as the
default
encoding. In order to input Hebrew characters, I first have to change the
encoding
to UTF-8 (with BOM), then switch back to UTF-8 with BOM. This isn't a new bug
restricted to 4.8.1 but is found in older versions, too.

I have a suggestion.

Can Notepad ++ provide an option to make all the document tabs with the same
fixed width that can be set by the user?

Also, please refer to this screenshot (Textpad)...

<img src="http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/files/1057646_lnaam/capture_2008.03.05_14-
44-40.gif" alt="capture_2008.03.05_14-44-40.gif" />

Instead of working with the left-right arrow to select a particular document
as the way it is now in Notepad ++, why not make it a dropdown list as shown
in the screenshot.

Actually this is something like a list of documents pop-up under the menu Window
but that only limited to 10 documents only.

Thank you.

Please run without plugins and tell if it works then, some plugins break the
fix :).
(If this fixes it, reinstall each plugin one by one and tell which ones cause
problems).
