I have not found how to do so. It would be a shame to have to constantly describe every detail with text. Thank you very much for your insights. It's definitely set as the default - if I open the list of default programs it's in there, but if I click on a .txt file in Explorer (or Directory Opus) it opens in Windows Notepad. I've tried several other programs (OpenOffice.org, Crimson Editor, even WordPad) and they work fine (i.e. the default "sticks"). I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it made no difference. Searched through all the options and couldn't see anything that might work. Google didn't help. I'm at a loss. Any (useful) suggestions would be welcomed. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Here's my request: Anytime I need to search through a document for all the instances of a string, I have to highlight the string, hit ctrl+f (to bring up the find dialog), escape (to close the find dialog), and then I can just keep hitting F3 to go to the next instance of the earlier highlighted string... What would be reallly super nice, is if I could just highlight the string and hit F3 to go to the next instance of the string. Currently F3 is not used for anything at if you hadn't opened the find dialog, so might as well put it to some use! Thanks a mil! Add "print_r try catch" to the "User Define keywords" and hit save/close. Kind of stupid that these things aren't included automatically. If this is for backwords compatibility they should add more languages to the list rather than keeping PHP dumb. Incidentally, I had to add "string" to the C++ list and I am using GCC 4+ for a compiler. Get with the now! ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. If there is nothing highlighted the search will first select the current identifier at caret position. If you prefer this way of searching for your everyday needs, you may reassign shortcuts using "Settings - Shortcut Mapper...". ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. This is standard RegExp in Unix from way back when, and egrep introduced [a-k]{3,6} to have the same effect. Perl regular expressions have adopted the same standard. In Linux commands, both forms are available, often with the Perl version specified with the command-line argument -r or --regexp-extended There are other differences between the basic and extended RegExps. I'm sure there are open source libraries that notepad++ could use to implement the Perl version of RegExps, and to my mind this would be a great advance. (The style of regular expressions used could be controlled by a tick box somewhere.) After all, even Microsoft Word supports [a-k]{3,5} in its "wildcard" searches! How could I suggest this change to the maintainers of notepad++? What I see is that the context menu is build up from an XML file, which contains ID's from functionality which is most probably located within NPP. I would like to have the possibility to add items to the context menu, also using ID's, but ID's that are defined somewhere in plug-ins. Don't know if this is feasible, though... It must be implemented in Notepad++'s general docking engine. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
