Yes, will try to remember that next time.
I use the latest Firefox stable version. I see the section where it says
configure
how filetypes are configured but it won't let me add. Please show me the step
by step way to make the settings that way?
Thanks!

I was using the left CTRL button.
The problem does not appear with 4.7.5.
Posted after searching the forum - please explain where I would find the
answer.

Perhaps you can test if helps with this registry.
Modify the source code to suit your Directories.

but it works now!
Thanks for the help :D

I did contact the Scintilla forum, but Neil Hodgson (nyamatongwe) said:
<<<<<<
I believe that applications that want good regular expression support
should link their preferred RE library into their executable. That way they
get to choose which library to use. I won't be adding to the existing RE
code myself although may accept well written patches.
>>>>>>

So now I'm in a bind. I have experience in programming in C and Perl and Unix
shell, but never for a windowing environment. I have fetched the helps on
developing
a plugin for npp, but with my other workloads, I doubt that I'll be able to
put the time into learning to write a plugin.

I've just sent an email to Chris Severance, the developer of TextFX directly,
to see if he would be prepared to make the full RE as in Perl etc available
in TextFX, so I'll be content to see what he says.

Thanks again for listening,
   Jim

Unfortunately, setting all styles except PREPROCESSOR to default doesn't work.

To use a User Defined Language regexps are needed: C directives could be
"#define"
or "# define" and "#" must be the first non-space character in the line.

Ok, thanks for pointing me out this one.

But the "peculiarities" I mentioned in my threads are not exactly handled in
that other thread. There, I see other issues "on top of mine".

So, still valid... ;-)

Best rgds,

> Where would all those defaults have to be stored, then?

Well, one could think of an ini file or an xml file, like it is used so much
for other apps/plug-ins.
Can never be an issue, quite straightforward, I would say...

Have a look the way it is done for the style configuration.

Best rgds,

Hello.

I suggest to include the current line number in the set of environment
variables.

Such variable is needed, for instance, if you use Notepad++ for LaTeX and want
to make a forward search in the output dvi-file.
I suppose the required effort for implementation is little.
Yet, it would surely make Notepad++ more attractive to users of LaTeX.

Happy TeXing, JTM.

Thank you for guiding me toward the plugins.

What I am looking for is Quicktext. The only difference with scite is that the
place of the caret is determined with the dollar sign "$" instead of the
vertical
bar "|".

This is great,

Thanks again.
