I have 2 questions on the usage of notpadd++,
How to always have a side by side view of 2 screens in a window, for example,
if I open one document, I will have it on the left screen, and on the right
will be an empty one.
How to make a sentence go to the second line when it reaches the edge of a
screen,
so I dont have to scroll horizontally to view the whole sentence.
Thanks in advance.

1. Right click on the (new) document's tab and choose "Go to another view".

2. Activate Word-wrap, there is a button on the toolbar for this (or use the
View menu).

You don't even need a regular expression for that.

Move the cursor to the start of the document (CTRL+Home).
Press CTRL+R to open the advanced Find/Replace dialog.
Press CTRL+M to enter a linebreak (CR+LF) into the Find field.
Press anything to your liking in the Replace field.
Replace all occurrences.

Made/makes no sense to me either. I'm going back to previous version which
clearly had the Word style support TAB and CRLF.

Many thanks, that works great. My issue was related to me trying to use the
standard, rather than the advanced replace.

Notepad++ is really a great tool. Light years ahead of the default editor on
Win32. :^)

Thanks again.

The question is not whether the Chinese government are evil and we should not
help them.
Of course this is true.
The question is whether boycotting is worth it.
I'm not sure, largely because it would not work unless many many millions of
people are in favor of it.

This software has just about everything except rulers for web development.
Any chance they can be added or am I just not finding them in the program?

Two features that I would like to see introduced - let me know if these are
already there and I have missed them!

* Being able to specify characters using hex codes in search & replace - e.g.
\x0A translating LF if you have checked the "contains Hex codes" box
* "Hex view" of file (similar to HEdit)

I have been using N++ while creating a new web page. Now I want to move on
to other languages and believe N++ can be of great value in programming.

The clear presentation afforded by the interface for a language to emphasis
syntax is great. I have decided to keep using N++ and was planning to make
a contribution. However even after creating a login for sourceforge I cannot
firstly log in and therefore find my way to the donation page. I would
appreciate
some guidance

While Idont have sophisticated skills I would be able toprovide testing as a
programming entry level user.

HI, I am the anonymous poster. Would you hear me now? I mean, I have an account
now. Even though my ideas are the same, only thing that changed was me logging
in. Does this change anything for you? Yes? Well then you're and idiot. All
people have the same right to be heard. Not because they're anonymous does this
means they're less smart or their ideas are less worth listening.
