Same happened to me with NP++ 4.8.5 after I updated yesterday. I didn't know
how to fix it. I reinstalled NP4.8.5, the problem still in there. I downgraded
to NP++4.8.2. The result is the same. How could I fix it? Helppppppppp.

I'm not sure what the previous poster is on about, but you can do block selects
by holding down the ALT key and then selecting the block of text with the mouse.
I found this on the keyboard shortcut list:
