When copying utf-8 to Notepad++ where I have specified the encoding of the Notepad++ document to be utf-8, the text is pasted in as my local encoding (cp950/big5) instead and does not display correctly. To replicate this bug, set a document to utf-8. You may copy and paste from here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taiwan All Chinese characters are shown with their cp950/big5 encodings instead of as characters. Just to be sure, I did check to make sure my font is capable of displaying Chinese, though the fact that the big5 encoding is shown in a utf-8 document is a giveaway that it isn't a font problem. I did see a rich text copy+paste bug, but don't know if it's related. I tested to make sure it isn't a Firefox 3 bug. Copy and paste works correctly in both MS Word 2007 and Notepad2. Thanks for a great open source program. Are you sure it's not your installed plugins which do that? It was caused by a test version of new plugin which was placed some time ago in my just updated Notepad++'s folder. I've myself forgotten about the principle of clear installation of new version... Sorry. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Afaik is the autoupdate a great option, but it has to work before we can use it :). If Don get this working, i'll be happy too. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. When working in say the third tabbed file and switch to another Windows task, and back again to NPP with Atl+Tab, NPP default shows the last opened tab (my tenth in this example), instead of the last active one (the third). Can this behaviour be changed? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. First of all I would like to say that the application is one of the best I have used and I really appreciated your hard work on it. My primary use of Notepadd++ is for Log files investigation. As such, I am looking for a way to search for a word/pattern and get all the results in the search results window. This enables an easy view of the results and a simple double click takes me to the line. This feature exists in when selecting search in all open documents. Do you think there is a way to add this for every search? even in a single document or per document? Maybe this feature already exists but I couldn't find a way to enable it. Thanks, Dekel ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. It has been said before and will be said again, NotePad++ is a text editor and not a development environment. IDE's server this type of purpose, while text editors are useful for editing text. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. You may be interested in an autosave plugin: http://fstellari.googlepages.com/npp_plugins It probably doesnt work on "new ##" tabs though. Right now Notepad++ doesnt recover well from crashes 2. Close current document is currently mapped to Ctrl-W, use the shortcutmapper if you want it to be Ctrl-F4 ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Close current document is currently mapped to Ctrl-W, > use the shortcutmapper if you want it to be Ctrl-F4 The Microsoft keyboard guidelines [1] specify Ctrl-F4 for this functionality. Ctrl-W is a very common alternative, but this is not part of the recommendation. If it can only be one of the two then Ctrl-F4 would be a better default, but ideally it would be mapped to both keys. - Mark [1] http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms971323.aspx#atg_keyboardshortcuts_ windows_shortcut_keys ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. OK, but what I actually said was it '*the impression given* is that the NPP devs are...' meaning that these kind of posts reflect badly on the developers, as they appear (particularly the anonymous ones) to be 'official' responses. If you choose to take umbrage at this comment that was not aimed as a criticism of you then that's your prerogative, but that wasn't the intent. >> The problem is rather that the people who respond negatively to the support >> requests (particularly from new users) tend to speak authoritatively and >> anonymously and so no-one has any idea whether it is a dev speaking, or just >> an ordinary member of the community. > > I ensure you that I (and the Notepad++ members) don't bother to answer if I > don't want to. Some of the FAQ pages are there, but others point to static pages on the NP++ site. - Mark ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
