I completely reinstalled and everything seems to be working well again. I opened
up some larger text files (iana's port list plus some others) and it closes
well again. Not sure what the problem was, but it's working now, so thanks for
all your help.

As you can see in your link, AVG is the only one, that recognises it as a virus.
Trust me, this IS a false positive. scilexer.dll is a component of Scintilla
(on which Notepad++ is based on).
Alternatively try to upgrade to the newest version 4.9.2. Maybe the scilexer.dll
has been updated and won't be recognised as a virus anymore.

Yeah, but AVG insists they were correct. Weird. Anyway, updated to new version

there is a similar issue. As with that case, its probably a false positive.
SciLexer probably has some code with the same fingerprint as Vundo.t, though
its unlikely its infected. Also, upgrading seems to help (v4.9 or new 5.0 alpha)

My ASP file include HTML, JS, ASP
JS, ASP format OK
but HTML is not formated => all HTML tag (html, head, body, input....) are black
color only

Perhaps this should be part of the Auto-Indent feature, but it would be really
great if NPP would insert an indent when I hit enter after an open curly brace
and remove an indent when I type a close curly brace on a new line. This would
be uber-helpful when I write C code, especially since I use spaces instead of
tabs and hitting Enter, Bksp, Bksp, Bksp, Bksp, } is a little frustrating when
I have to do it over and over again.

Not exactly. Here is what I do.
- Start npp on monitor 1 move to 2.
- open find dialogue. drag to 2
- make sure still opens on 2.
- with find closed, drag npp to monitor 1
- hibernate and restart with only a single monitor connected.
- open the find dialogue.
