I would love this. I work a lot with Garmin 'Point of Interest' files which
are in CSV format.

Your second question " How can i set it up so that every time i press the 'tab'
key, it's substituted instead by, say, four 'space' characters." Can be
accomplished
with
"Settings.....Preferences" select the "Edit Components" tab look on the right
side for "Tab Setting" place a check mark in the "Replace by space" checkbox.
Change the tab size in the same place.

I just installed Notepad++ version 5.0 beta, and syntax highlighting works great
for extensionless files! Thank you so much for implementing this!

Regards,
Bob

Best Regards and still have fun with Notepad++

I forgot to mention that I'm using Windows XP. Does this change my

Actually not that much. :-) Just install cygwin and place its bin
folder on your path and you get the whole power of *nix command-line
utilties under windows. E.g. unix2dos & dos2unix for line endings,
expand for converting between tabs and spaces, grep for searching in
files, sed for replacing stuff in files, etc...Cygwin itself is real
simple to install. Just run its setup.exe and select the packages you
want, with the defaults being ok for a start. Later on you easily
reconfgure and/or update your installation by running that same setup.exe.

  Hope this helps.

  Best regards,
    Jurko Gospodneti?

I'll second this - I'd love to see different styling for keywords vs. built
in functions. I tried adding my own <Keywords> list in langs.xml, but I can't
seem to get NP++ to pay attention to it.

Thanks,
-pc

Hi there. I've started using Notepead++ just nowand I have been having trouble
finding some functions (that is if they exist...).

Can someone please tell me how can I delete all duped word and lines in my
document?
It's just a wordlist alphabetically sorted but I didn't want to do
it manually...

Also I noticed that "?", "?" and "?" aren't sorted near the other "a"...
Is it a bug? I mean they are still "a" (just accentuated).
Also I'd like to know if it's possible to sort the lines according to the number
of chars in it (my lines only have one word) but still alphabettically:

a
b
ba
bb
dd
zx
aab
abcd

Thanks in advance (and sorry if the answer is clear... I'm just having a hard
time finding it... like when you miss to see something right in front of you)

Was this post a little to complicated as to not warrant an answer? Is there
somehow I can simplify it? I just want to be able to put my own toolbar icons
on a toolbar and allow them to use configured commands from the html insert
plugin... Hope this clarifies...

To get an idea about what you can do, read this thread:

"Preparing numbers to be sorted by TextFX sort" (Plugin Development forum)
http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=2011755&forum_id=482781

Now, think about how you could do a similar thing for your words of different
lenghts...
In the description, "replace" the 0 by a space character and treat your words
as numbers.
(I guess the maximum length of a word in the list really doesn't matter.)

For simple sorting, you can also use TextFX.

Menu_____ : TextFX
Submenu__ : TextFX Tools
Option___ : +Sort outputs only UNIQUE (at column) lines

Check this option if you want to remove duplicate entries/lines, in your case:
words.

To actually perform the sorting:

Menu_____ : TextFX
Submenu__ : TextFX Tools
Option___ : +Sort lines case (in)sensitive (at column)

The (at column) means, sorting will be performed from the starting position
of your selection (on the first line).

In your case, you can select complete lines (cursor at te beginning) and even
the complete file or list of words (CTRL+A).

If you even want the accents to be ignored, you may want to remove them (first).
I can't think of a way right now to put them back after the sorting has been
done.
