Hey I just updated to npp 5.0.3 and liking some of the new features, howevr
when i type the \ character it gets converted into a W with a strikethrough,
which is slightly confusing. Anybody have any idea why this is, and how I can
disable it?

This would be a very nice feature for me too. I use the User Defined Languages
ALL the time and I could greatly benefit from this with my Primary (Business
Rules!) programming language and several other small user defined languages
I use regularly.

I suspect I know what it is, if that's any help. The same ASCII code is
displayed
as a backslash, a yen sign, or a won sign (which is probably what you saw)
depending
on the locale of the font being used to display it. I see that confusion on
a regular basis, because I live in Japan, use a computer with Japanese Windows,
and use software and websites that use a variety of character sets and fonts.
You can goggle and find lots of pages about the issue - here is just one:
http://blogs.msdn.com/michkap/archive/2005/09/17/469941.aspx

However, I don't know why you're suddenly now getting a won sign for the first
time. Interestingly enough, although my copy of N++ 5.0.3 is installed on
Japanese
Windows, when I type a backslash, I get a backslash. Go figure! Perhaps
someone
connected with the development of N++ knows how it decides what font to use,
and whether it can be configured.

Cheers, changing my font fixed the issue, no idea why the default font was dotum
and why that had \ mapped to the won symbol on my machine :\ ah well.

Thanks again.

Ok, Don,

Steps to reproduce defect:
1. create 3 files in one directory with such content
111111111111
222222222222
333333333333
444444444444
555555555555
2. open that 3 files in Notepad++
3. press CTRL + F
4. open the tab "Replace"
5. enter values replace what - "333333" to "zzzzz"
6. press button "replace in all active documents"

Expected:
in 3 files content
111111111111
222222222222
zzzzzzzzzz33
444444444444
555555555555

Actual:
zzzzz111111111111
222222222222
zzzzzzzzzz33
444444444444
555555555555
(see all open files, first incorrect row)

Hello all.

One is the way of software. Open source.
I think that is very noizy to use for extractions other programs. It is very
easy for someone who knows the
plugin language to make sutch a plug-in.
A crowler plug-in ...

Thank's

I probably missed this somewhere in the help file or elsewhere, but is there
a way to have notepad++ default to .txt as the file type when you're saving
something you created on the fly? I don't mind occasionally having to override
the default extension when I want it to be some other file type, but I hate
having to type *some* extension *every time* I save a new file.

Are you just adding a line break every 67 characters, or are you going to the
67th character, backing up to a break point (e.g. after a white space character
or puntuation mark)?

If you are just adding a line break every 67 characters you can do a regex
replace
of:
(..............................................) #using 67 '.'s, each '.'
represents
any character
with:
\1\n
(and then change EOL style from unix to whatever platform you are using)

If you are going to the 67th character then backing up to a break point, I don't
know how to do that using regex (or even if you can in regex). Instead I would
write a script (perl/python/ruby/pick your favorite scripting language) to break
up the text in the file.

I agree, it really annoys me every time since I am used to automatic .txt from
Textpad.
