regsvr32 /u nppcm.dll
you have to set the path to the n++ directory first (using CMD)
Or uninstall and reinstall with the option turned off

In the settings, you can change the directory notepad++ uses as the current
one. You can manually specify a directory to use, the FiF dialog will use that
then (not exactly as you requested, but alike).

I also don't use the NP++ desktop icon but hardly think it's worthy of

One of the .dll files in the XML tools zip file plugin for Notepad ++
(ext_libs.zip
file) is reported by Spybot S&D as a Darkonia Trojan.

Spybot configuration files used were up to date as of 10/03/2008. Specifically
had to scan the .dll files individually with Spybot S&D to get the threat
notification.

Notepad++ is a responsible project and I anticipate they will take action
if there is an actual confirmed issue.
I passed the .zip and the individual .dlls in to the multi-vendor scanner
at http://virusscan.jotti.org/ and everything came back clean. None of the
tools at my disposal indicate an issue with either the .zip or any of the
individual .dlls. That does not mean there is not an issue here; just that
none of the tools at my disposal can detect one.
I see that there are newer signatures from Spybot (two sets are newer).
No scanner is 100%. All eventually hit false positivies, defects, etc.
Please do the following:
1. Update your Spybot signatures and retest.
2. If there is a still a problem, please send a note to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] and pass along the results you encountered.
3. Please also follow-up with the Spybot folks and ask them to confirm
whether this is a false positive.
