Today I was receiving the Trojan Horse Generic12.HTC alert on
Notepad++/uninstall.exe
from AVG. I updated my definitions and performed a manual scan on the file and
I'm no longer receiving an alter. I guess they've fixed it.

I update the database on AVG and the warning went away.

Powershell syntax highlighting is available already using 1 of 3 different
methods (that I know of):
1) Using the user-defined syntax you can acquire the definitions already
in use by other powershell users.
2) Using a newer version of the scintilla syntax dll than is included
with Notepad++ which already has basic Powershell support included.
3) Use the newest of the Powershell lexers built for the newest Scintilla.

The best place to find out how to do this and which would be best to use
would be either the Powershell mailing list, or (and this is where I'd
recommend)
the freenode networks #powershell chat room. You can find out the latest
and where to get it from the chat room the fastest and with the most help.

Hello. I used to use Notepad++ on Windows, and I found it excellent. But now
that I have switched to Linux, I can't use it. I know there are tons of
alternatives
(many of which are good), and I know that I can use WINE. I would prefer to
use Notepad++ itself, instead of the alternatives, because I am so much used
to it. WINE indeed does some emulation, but the result is not just perfect.
The program is slow, it doesn't look very nice, and it has bugs. I wonder if
a Linux port of Notepad++ would be so difficult for you to make. I strongly
believe it is worth it, as many many people would use it, and I, personally,
would love to see such a movement. Thanks, and keep up the very good work.

This has been discussed many times before, I think just 1 week ago. Try
searching
for it.
The short answer is: no, not happening

Can't you just do something like UPnP port mapping while someone is hosting
a server?

I would recommend using a different antivirus.

It's not the first time people here complain about AVG's false positives. This
time it's about the installer, last time it was the Scintilla DLL.

I had this problem. Took a while to install it. I tried stopping all avg
services,
but it still didn't install. Finally I found Tools->Advanced
Settings->Exceptions->Add Path. I put my normal download folder there (actually
I created a new one \temp\goodDownloads). Then I moved the exe to that folder
and was able to install it. I hope it wasn't really infectd, I didn't even
md5sum it.
