This could be the plugins'issue.
Could you remove them one by one to identify the guilty one?

Don

Yes, NppAutoIndent.dll must be "faulty". I deleted it too and have no problems
anymore.

 Hi,

first, Notepad++ is a very useful soft !

However i'm having a problem with it. It can be worked around, but is still
quite a hassle.

Dealing with rather large files ( 3000+ lines), i've defined a custom language
with folders, opening word "blockstart", closing word "blockend".
I use this extensively to navigate the file quickly, and have currently three
levels of nesting.

However, when writing in a folder in the main view, this folder will
automatically
open also in the cloned view.
This means that if the folder i'm writing in is below the text i'm having in
the cloned view, the cloned view display will change.

I'm not sure this is clear, so, an example :
 i have a script with three folders A B C, all closed.
 I clone the view.
In the cloned view i open folder C.
In the main view i open folder A, start to write into it -> folder A opens
in the cloned view, and is now displayed in it, so i lost the part i was reading
in folder C.

- Scrolling is not synchronized.
- I've tried uninstalling Notepad++ (including files in Application Data),
reinstalling 5.01 or 5.11 gives the same result
- making a custom language with only these folders definitions give the same
result.

Any hints on how to prevent this ?

 Thank you for reading !

thinking a bit more, this is probably done to allow updating of the cloned view
when typing in the main view.

In an ideal world ( :) ) , the cloned view wouldn't need a folder to be opened
to be updated, or, if not possible, there would be a preference like 'do not
update cloned view'.
Even though updating cloned view is useful, i'd happily ditch it in favor of
a 100% stable display in cloned view.

Hi there all, I have recently been given a couple of flat files that are
basically
a string of text. What I am neededing to do is at each "*", insert a CRLF to
cause the next segment to drop to a new line.

I know that I can find every * in the file, but I am really lost as to how can
I get the application to insert the CR LF function. The file is a normal text
document.

There are about 4500 records in this line of text and there is no way I can
make myself sit there and at every 512 position hit enter, so does anyone have
any ideas?

Thanks!!!

first di a search for *.
Then go back to the start of the line, and create a macro.
First command of the macro, F3, repete search for the *.
Second command of the macro, press Enter.
Stop recording your macro.

Replay your Macro, again and again.

Maybe I'm missing something and I just couldn't do this from the simple "run"
command on n++, this is how I did it, hope it helps:

1) Create somewhere on your PATH a file named n++script.bat (any other name
will work of course) with the following two lines:

 php %1 > "c:\temp\tempoutput" 2>&1
 "C:\Program Files\Notepad++\notepad++.exe" c:\temp\tempoutput

You can change the n++.exe directory if you have a different one; similarly,
make sure there exists a c:\temp directory

2) in n++, click the "run" menu and type the following:

n++script.bat  "$(FULL_CURRENT_PATH)"

That's it... running this will execute your php and will open a window with
the file tempoutput containing the standard output of the php script and the
standard error

If you want only the standard output, remove the 2>&1 part in the first line
of the script

This plugin doesn't seem to be compatible with the latest version of NP++. Are
previous versions of NP available?
