Open Unicode NP++ v5.3.1 (ANSI version not tested). 2. Start a new file (File > New or left-most toolbar icon). 3. Type some text. 4. Use Save or Save As. Result: The file is created with zero bytes - no content is included. Even subsequent edits/saves will not save the text. It's a nasty one and I've already lost an hours work! Opening an existing file and saving works fine though. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. To: notepad-plus-plus@lists.sourceforge.net Message-ID: <49dc9634....@oleco.net> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-15; format=flowed Hi, I asked this question some weeks before and got no reply yet. Somehow I can not answer to my origin question, so I can not push it up anyway. So I write the question again now. Hopefully someone knowing a solution reading it... I'm trying to define my own syntax and have some problems with the definition of the folding keywords. My text-files look like this for example: 1234Start:xxx test foo 2345Stop:yyy So my keywords for folding are "Start:" and "Stop:". As you can see, there are no whitespaces around those keywords. So I need to know, how I could configure this. Is there a possibility to use wildcards in "Folderopen keyword" and "Folderclose keyword"? Take for example the small file below, both notepad and notepad2 correctly identify the file as unicode and show it correctly. Notepad++ DOESN'T show it correctly, because it cannot detect that the file is in unicode format. http://rapidshare.com/files/218887531/FastOptimize.MyD ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. The source of the ChangeMarkers plugin requires two things that I'm not sure would be acceptable for a project in the NppPlugins project. The first is that it requires the NppPluginIface project, so that would need to be hosted as well, and it requires a developer to either install the non-compiled headers for boost multi_index_container to build the NppPluginIface or to just use the NppPluginIface.lib. If these are acceptable then let's make it happen. almostautomated ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. The original 1.0 release of NppExternalLexers is available at Jaykul's PoshCode site ( since that was the original reason for creating it ) at http://poshcode.org/notepad++lexer/ ( just download the source version). Or you can select the newer version that is part of the NppPluginIface library available at: http://cid-71a486ea08eb407c.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/.Public/NppPluginIfac e?view=details The both will provide the same end result, yet since your focus looks to be purely on the lexing capabilities I think I'd suggest using the NppExternalLexers. Hope that helps! almostautomated If you have any other questions on it, please feel free to post them to either of these threads: NppPluginIface thread: https://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=3174036&forum_id=482781 NppExternalLexer thread: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=6360852 ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Text is there on subsequent loads. I am wondering: 1/ does the file extension appear to matter? 2/ Is the file saved on a plain HD or to some other hardware like a network drive, USB key or somesuch? 3/ Does the file name/path have any character in it which is not 7-bit ASCII alphabetic or an OS dependent part separator? 4/ What was the encoding of the file? Does changing the encoding appear to matter? 5/ Does N++ close on save without your solliciting it, which would imply it somehow crashes? 6/ Does removing some set of plugins (just rename the dll's) appear to matter? Start with removing them all. Then, if the problem went away, add them back incrementally so as to pinpoint the source of problem. 7/ Did you check you have write access to where you attempt to write the file to? Check by opening Notepad.exe and saving some text to the exact same place. Normally, I would try to open these un-associated files with a double click and then Windows would ask me what program I want to associate this extension with. Well, Notepad++ does not show up in the list and when I try to browse, Windows does not honor the filename (c:\program files\notepad++\notepad++.exe). Anyway, my point is that notepad++ should show up in the list of programs automatically, anyway. Why isn't it there and what can be done to ensure that it shows up there? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Only then was the entry in the Open With dialog available. It seems that Notepad++.exe is not acceptable for Windows to use with the Open With dialog. Looks like I will have to rename Notepad++.exe to NotePad.exe. Does anyone have any other information on this? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
