If the script appears as a menu command, you can put it on your context menu,
which should help. And it should appear on the Shortcut mapper.

Otherwise... no, macros won't work with plugin commands.

But a plugin is a dll. If you can devise how to launch the script using
rundll32.exe,
then you can assign that command line to a Run command. Even more perverse,
but might work. You'll need the plugin source to figure out the C name of the
function that runs the script. Or a dll analyser.

CChris
PS: I don't have SimpleScript because I believe it is ANSI only.

How about adding a menu item titled "<Opened file(s)>", never active, and
visible
when MRU is active and doesn't have any unopened files to shoow?

I think the title says it all :-)

It would be awesome to be able to dock the find and replace window, so that
you could keep the search and replace window visible all the time, while you
work on a file.

This is related to another post were I asked if it is possible to change the
characters used to delimit words (the answer was no, unless you used a macro,
and even then it did not work automatically).

I would like to suggest that an option to select the word delimiters (or at
least the most common ones) should be added to the Styler Configurator or to
the Notepad++ options.

Without this, using Notepad++ to program in some languages that use "$" as part
of the variable name (such as perl, shell scripts and some flavors of Basic)
becomes very annoying, since you cannot quickly copy/paste variable names!

Cheers,

Amadawn

1/ About mmy last sentence:
1/ I am using a localisation file (french). The entries with shortcuts F4 and
Shift-F4 show the shortcut, but no name on the left column. When "Modify"ing
the entry, the disabled "Name" field is empty.

2/ Now deleting nativelang.xml and restarting N++. Now the command names are
shown both on the SM left column and when modifying the entries.

3/ Choosing any localisation goes back to case 1/.

Keeping the Search menu tidy is an excellent policy. Leaving out very useful
commands from it seems less helpful. Putting all bookmark commands in a
Bookmarks
submenu (or even menubar menu, why not?) would leave ample room for adding Goto
next/prev result entry, as well as Swith to result window (F7), which has the
same behaviour as I described.

To make the Search menu even more compact, group all the "Previous" commands
into a submenu, and all "Next" commands into the next submenu.

I'd agree with ditching the Switch to other view command. But idn't this useful
for macros?

CChris

You can create a plugin to send the equivalent messages to the Scintilla
controls
on initialization (i.e. on Notepad++ startup). I've created a similar plugin,
except it used to configure Scintilla to allow scrolling the document past end
of file. Here is the link (sources included):
https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=189927&package_id=280756&;
release_id=607578

How on earth did I miss this ScrollPastEOF plug-in? Coming from Ultra-Edit,
I have missed such functionality in Notepad++ for more than a year.

Now I just tried to install it, but when I start Notepad++ I get this pop-up
message:

The ANSI plugin is not compatible with your Unicode Notepad++.
This plugin is not compatible with current version of Notepad++.
Do you want to remove this plugin from plugins directory to prevent this message
from the next launch time?

http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/950/notepadpopup.png

Does anyone have a solution to this?

I am using Notepad++ 5.4.2 (UNICODE)

I guess it's time to make a unicode build... I'll try to find time for it on
the next week.

In the meantime you can add the following procedure to the source
(ScrollPastEOF.ob2):

PROCEDURE ['C'] isUnicode* (): BOOLEAN;
(** Notepad++ asks if the plugin is ANSI or Unicode. *)
BEGIN
   RETURN TRUE
END isUnicode;

... and recompile the plugin. You'll need to install the freeware compiler:
http://www.excelsior-usa.com/xdsx86win.html (6.6 Mb to download, 17 Mb
installed),
and then run the included "compile.bat".
