have the plugging installed.

To make sure it's not plugins issue, just remove ALL the plugins, then try to
reproduce the problem. Please let me know the result of your test.

> Oh, there must have been someone thinking they are so original...

Yes, they are.
Personally, I think the name is well chosen - it evokes wiki and "++" and if
you have read the NpWiki++, you will see it's more than ++.

> Next to that, I totally do NOT see it as my job to keep this Wiki up to date.
> I've never used it, never referred to it and I certainly do not feel keeping

That's your call.

But one thing is obvious that Greg and Chris create NpWiki++ is not for them
but for Notepad++ community. Their call is to benefit the community, and if
the content of NpWiki++ is up to date, it's the gain of the whole community.

I encourage anyone who cares of Notepad++ community to make NpWiki++ content
up to date in the future. It certainly is the most updated and complete
Notepad++
information site out there. The current wiki page is replaced by it, and the
online help in Notepad++ official site will be replaced by it as well.

I ran into this unusual phenomena, that when I ran notepad++ via the console
window in Administrator mode, and attempt to open another file via the Context
Menu "Edit with Notepad++", the latter doesn't open. It happens on Windows with
UAC, Vista or Windows 7.

I have included the notepad++ program destination to the system path so it can
be called from the console window when I'm doing work from it. I usually open
the Administrator mode, click Start button -> cmd.exe -> press Ctrl + Shift
+ Enter on the keyboard.

I think the context menu "Edit with Notepad++" only starts a non-administrator's
instance to open the desired file.

Is there a way to enable two different instances of Notepad++, one normal mode
and the other administrator mode?

Regards.

It looks like it was a registry problem.
Reinstalling np++ solved it.
Thank you!

I'd vote for that too.

However, threr is a technical issue: the people who can promote ideas to "in
development" or "implemented" are NP++ developers or admins of some kind, not
plugin developers.

The wiki at least gives the possibility for anyone to report on idea
implementation,
and a benevolent admin can remove stuff which is completed and released.

It depends of the size of the addition.

You can edit each table row, which means each plugin, individually.
* If your addition simply conssists in a few lines of text, then beefing up
the description (ie central) part in the row will be enough.
* If adding more, then create a new page with your material (be sure to read
http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/notepad-plus/index.php?title=Author
Guidelines
), and then edit the plugin description to add a link to the page, which you
do as [[My New Page]], or [[My New Page| Some more convenient text]]. The space
after | is important.

Yes, I have it set to UTF-8, and I even tried UTF-8 without BOM, but neither
is showing those particular characters. Also, I am using Windows XP.
The thing is that regular Notepad can show these characters, and Notepad++ shows
other unicode characters just fine. These particular characters are seemingly
random. It's also unable to show ?, ?, and ? if that helps at all. I don't
know what the commonality between all of these is.

Perhaps try a different combination of font size and zooming. Zooming increases
all dimensions across the board. Font sie usually leaves ascent and descent
alone.
